TeamTrappist (368), jericho, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 Tap. Poured a light clear copper with a thin head. Malty nose. More flavor than I expected from this. Used to drink this as a kid and always enjoyed. And I enjoyed it tonight. Very drinkable with a hint of hops and a solid malt base finishes a bit bitter. Snot19kilo (81), Oakwood, Illinois, USA Nov 2, 2009 Roasted malts with notes of caramel in the aroma. Flavor is light caramel and roasted malts some ginger and maple. pretty weak Marzen. I have had better. broozer81 (63), , New Jersey, USA Oct 31, 2009 ok festbeer nothing special, flavor really lacks any character..I thought it was on the weak side of the Oktoberfests i’ve tried..not as rich in flavor as Hacker...below average.. osu97gp (168), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 31, 2009 Pours an amber orange with a white head. Aroma of toasted malts and caramel. Flavor is of smooth malts and some hops with a sweet finish. Pretty decent beer. beerlover82 (100), Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2009 Pored on tap from local tavern with nice deep orange-amber with Ok head/lacing that fazes quickly. Aroma is of malt and little else. Thin to medium-bodied with minimal flavor being of malt, very little else. Decent. bobman006 (38), New Jersey, USA Oct 27, 2009 Bottle. Dark copper with small white head. Aroma is earthy with malts, toffee, and roasted nuts. Flavors of caramel/toffee, brown sugar, maple, and salted hazelnuts. Smooth. Good body and carbonation. Roundness. Makes me want to go to Germany. Chapel (329), Levittown, New York, USA Oct 27, 2009 On tap. Clear amber color like a good Octoberfest. Mildly fruity and sweet with a nice touch of malts. Essentially, it plays it really safe, but I have had much worse Octoberfests in the past. stephenj007 (25), Houston, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2009 Bottle pour was attractive. Nice, foamy, off-white head that dissipated in short time. Looks great, dark, coppery amber color. Aromas of darker malts, with a slight champange/sweet fruit hint. Very smooth flavors of roasted malts, nuts, and carmelized sugars. A well balanced hops finish, with a slight alcohol bite. A good brew from one of my preferred brewers.
