Beardface (772), Eugene, Oregon, USA Jun 26, 2009 On draft at Gustav’s. Clear amber pour with a small cream colored head. Mostly sweet malt flavor with some light floral hops in there and a strange, buttery aftertaste. It was smooth and easy to quaff though. mcdav2154 (56), Germany Jun 25, 2009 12oz bottle. Lighter amber color with a pretty nice cream head. some lacing. Sweetness of the malt and balenced with hops. Very nice. The aftertaste was a bit like buttered bread. A little watered down so it shouldn’t get the highest marks but still a very good beer. LadySusan (440), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Jun 13, 2009 Bottle at Mr. Pickiwick’s in Stowe Vermont. The color is a clear amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is very strong of hops. The taste is also of hops and citrus fruits and a nice sweetness. Vertical Bacon Strips (581), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 26, 2009 Sweet malt with a fading lightly hopped aftertaste and an impressive dark amber hue. A bit buttery?? probally wrong, but I swear theres something to that (going to have to sample again). Pounded this one back and was looking for more. Yea! Lets get ripped! Birdiebeagle (626), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA May 25, 2009 Draft @ Sommerfest. Pours a clear amber with a good off white head. Has a decent aroma of wseet malts with a touch of hops and pepper. Has an ejoyable flavor. Good balance. Not real strong but very refreshing. Has a medium body. Good carbonation. A pretty solid finish with a good aftertaste. This is a real good beer. teebradford (46), Senatobia, Mississippi, USA May 22, 2009 Of course there is malt here, it’s an Oktoberfest. What impresses me is the hops. Just the way I like them: in the background. The hops are kind of peppery, not that annoying grapefruit taste so many breweries here in the States are infatuated with. This beer is very refeshing and tasty. I like this slightly better than Samuel Adams’ offering, which is saying something. Mine came in a green bottle for some reason, but surprisingly didn’t affect the taste. 18/20. delnoche (118), Germany May 17, 2009 33cl bottle poured into a dimpled mug. Pours clear amber brown with two finger off-white head. Nose is dark fruits and nuts. Flavor is bitter and malty. Finish is medium to long bitterness. Quite smooth and refreshing brew. I could drink these all night.
