This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

500 ml, butelka. Aromat słodowy, może trochę brązowy cukier. W smaku pełne, gęste. Może lekki alkohol.

Draught at the Bavarian Bier Cafe, Parramatta. Pours a clear dark gold, with a large white head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves good lacing. The aroma offers spice, sweet caramel malt and light herbal hops. Herbal, slightly lemony hops up front give way to a surprisingly malty mid-palate, which shows caramel and fresh white bread. Herbal hops reappear in the finish. A quite pleasant lager, in fact.

I actually like this one. Compared to most of the helles it has a bit of a hop accent and is still light enough. Pours between straw and gold, just a tad darker than the lighter lagers. Gentle white head. Smells of clean noble hops. First sip is fairly malty and then the clean hops kick in. There’s a very light bitterness to balance it all out. As you have a few more sips the hops seem to shine a bit more, and the beer feels more dry. It has a good body to it, but still feels light. If this was a regularly available lager I’d actually have it every now and then.

Clear golden beer. Yeasty aromas (fruits and diacetyl) are dominant in nose. Hoppy notes are perceived as well. In mouth it is slightly sweet. Light body and medium carbonation. Easy drinking

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Clear golden. Nose is sweet pale malts and grain, honey, hay. Tastes quite similar. It may be decent example of the style, it is just not my style.

Couleur jaune claire, très légère mousse. Bon nez malté et note legumes. Gout malté et céréales assez doux, corps un peu onctueux avec fin de bouche houblonnée et bonne petite amertume. Vraiment bien pour le style.
