Commercial Description:
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

Bottle. Clear yellow with white head. Large aroma in the beginning but it fades out. The aftertaste lingers for a while. Sweet and hay.

(Draught at Pikkulintu on 2008-09-05) Pale golden. Clear. Medium sized white quickly disappearing head. Lightly grassy nose. Medium bodied and fresh palate with lot of carbonation. Hint of grapefruit, bitterness and fruitiness in taste. Long lasting bitter aftertaste.

2:nd of 4 sampled oktoberfest beers from systembolaget. The arom have some DMS and litle else. In the taste the alcohol is clearly present and the body is to thin. All 6 of us that tried this beer thought this was the worst of the oktoberfest beers. I wounder if there might have been a bad bottle as Spaten usually make much better beer than this?

Clear straw yellow color, white head. Malty, grainy, slight acidic scent. Malty, grainy, sweet taste. Taste is still rather refreshing. Herbal aftertaste, also sweet. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Quite ok, in spite of the not-so-good smell.

Great malt flavor matched well with good hop aroma and bitterness. Very drinkable and refreshing. It’s light and a good fest beer!
