The classic German dark beer, bottom fermented ’Doppel Bock’. Full bodied with a deep dark color and rich roasted malt flavor.

Apparently I don’t agree with the masses because I really did not like this beer. It had a bitter fruit taste that just didn’t sit well at all. The alcohol content was nice, but thats about it.

Pours a red-tinged brown in the glass. Aroma of dried fruits and roasted malt. Nice roasted malt flavors. Rich mouthfeel. Lengthy finish.

Pours dark reddish brown, thin white head. Aroma has notes of sweet caramel, dark fruit, some earth, and a touch of biscuit. Taste is a sweet combination of caramel, touch of chocolate, leading into some earthy malt, biscuit, finishing sweet. Not bad.

A nice, robust doppelbock. Make sure you get a fresh bottle, they recently have come out with a new label, I’d suggest you get ti now.

Pours deep brown with thick foamy tan head and lacing. Pleasant notes of malt and hops. Initial taste is of malty sweetness, followed by a short bitter finish.

Pours dark with thick tan head. I get lots of wheat and alcohol. Slightly bitter, more so than other German dopplebocks, but it smooths out in its finish. Nice warm "feel" from its alcohol.

What you would expect from a full bodied Bock. Strong aroma, featuring malt, syrup and hints of fruit. Pours a dark, dark amber with a tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Taste is robust with a great malty finish. Full bodied in the mouth with a light sweetness and a little bitter. Enjoyable and would drink again

Reddish brown pour with a light tan head. Smells primarily of dark fruits, caramel, toffee, and nuts. Taste is about the same, with more emphasis on the caramel and roast features, though still a fair amount of fig flavor. Palate is velvety smooth. Hard to pass up a classic German doppelbock like this. I go back and forth between which of the big three I like best (Spaten, Ayinger, and Paulaner), and this one certainly holds its own.
