Pours a very dark brown with a small, short-lasting head. Aroma is full of caramel, toffee and some nuttiness. Taste is a sweet and nutty mix with a hint of bitterness at the end. A classic beer of the style.

Pours a beautiful dark ruby with a small white head. The aroma is full of caramel and toffee, with dark fruits, slight roast, and some faint noble hops. The flavor is similar, with a slightly warm but clean finish. The mouthfeel is full and smooth with light but prickly carbonation. All in all a great doppelbock, very enjoyable.

Dark brown color, with a frothy tan-colored head, sweet toasted and caramelized malt nose, with a toffeeish accent, brown sugar, hint of dark dried fruits fruitiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a very sweet toasted malt character with some brown sugar, hint of nuttiness, dried raisins and plums fruitiness, leading towards a rich malty finish.

On Tap @ Munich Haus, Munich Haus is becoming a favorite spot fast! Deep mahogany color with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates fairly fast. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, molasses and a bit of plum. Medium body with a sweet toffee and malt character. Light fruit and hops are present as well but the sweetness dominates. The finish is sweet with caramel and roasted malt and leaves a molasses and brown sugar aftertaste.

A-pours a deep reddish brown color with an abundance of fluffy light tan colored head. S-the nose brings a malt presence up front with notes of caramel and hints of coffee, light roasted quality, fussel alcohols present, light malt sweetness, grainy in the back with a light leafy hop presence. T-richer malt presence than the nose, lots of rich caramel, toffee, dark malts, again a lightly roasted quiality with hints of slightly burnt coffee, the fussels are mild and enjoyable, the grain profile is faint and not off putting, some dark fruit maltiness towards the back and light leafy hop finish. M-rich and creamy feel on a reasonably full chewy body with a well carbonated finish. D-this is a darn tasty doppelbock with a good rich flavor profile and enough of a hop balance and light alcohol presence that make for a tasty rich beer.

Bottle: Pours a dark amber, with a nice tan head to it. Smells : your what seems to be prototypical elements : a caramely malt, dried fruit/raisin sweetness, and the like. Flavors are similar, with the taste dominated I believe by sweetness. This brew masks the ABV well - I certainly enjoy it, but I doubt I’m the only one that has celebrator on the brain while sampling...
