The classic German dark beer, bottom fermented ’Doppel Bock’. Full bodied with a deep dark color and rich roasted malt flavor.

I keep trying new Doppelbocks but always seem to come back to this one. Sweet but not too sweet. Nutty and malty as well. Its also really cheap for a beer this good. Scores extra points from me.

Pours dark amber with ruby highlights. Very clear with a quickly discipating head. Aroma is distinctly munich malty sweetness. Body is medium full. Flavor has a lot of residual malt sweetness but is balanced well with a background bitterness. A really good dopplebock.

I have had this many times, but it has been probably two years since my last one. Pours a deep porter-like dark brown, small lace, caramel and roast aroma. Flavor is big and mildly sweet. It was 6.99 a 6pack at my Trader Joes and at a respectable 7.2% abv, this is a mighty fine beer to start out my October!

dirty charcoal filtered pour gives to caramel colored yet translucent brew with minimal head and zero lace. aroma is well devloped caramel and caramelized nuts. flavor is of more of the same and a late and light booze mule kick. palate reflects the ABV - silky but only such as 7% can provide. i’d like to see this ferment out to 10%.

Dark brown pour with lots of aroma, especiallly caramel. The taste is sweet with malt and caramel. If anything it could use a bit more bittering balance. Silky presence on the palate. Enjoyable.

Dark maroon with light tan head. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Sweetish caramel taste with toffee and raisins. Alcohol shows through. Lots of malt, could use better balance.

Bottle. Medium to dark brown with a large, creamy, off-white head. Full of aroma: caramel, dark malts, some hops, chocolate, dried fruits. Sweet and malty. Caramel and chocolate flavors. A touch of alcohol taste, which works to balance a little. Very lightly hopped. Could use a little more to balance it out better. Malt is rich and thick but not very complex. Finish of roasted malt (slightly drying), a touch of hops and alcohol, and malt. A decent bock, but too much on the sweet side for me.

Brown color, malty aroma, sweetness is very present in the flavor and maybe a little chocolate, finishes very smooth.
