Not sure how this one got in the fridge. Nice clear brown color. Loved the malt and roasted grain that come through on an earthy platter.

Pour from 12oz bottle. Deep amber/brown color, thin off white head. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Delicious malty flavor with caramel and roasted grain overtones. Not an undifferentiated sugary blast of malt syrup, but rather a refined, well balanced, yet heavy malt flavor. A classic indeed.

Get rid of the green bottles! This is a solid offering from Spaten that probably loses a step or two on it’s way to me in OKC. Not as sweet as most Doppels, and a tad acidic. But complex and good overall.

Dark brown pour with a small off white head. Aroma mostly of caramel with a similar flavor. Lots of caramel and malts however not overly sweet.

12oz bottle. Clear and dark with minimal head. Heavy on the malts from nose to flavor. Nice roasted flavors. Smooth texture on the palate due in large part to 7.2% EtOH content. Great balance overall.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of pizza dough and roasted lager malts. Flavor is nice and doughy with some sweetness in the finish. A touch vegetal. Nice and pleasant to drink.

Great beer rich malt flavor dark and full bodied really nice texture rich and thick chocolate tones and nutty biscuity roastyness.
