Just tried my very forst Optimator. Once again I wish that American breweries could produce high volume beer with this good a taste. Micro breweries like Dogfish Head, 16 Mile, and Three Floyds can produce beers that even outshine these forgien beers, but mass produced? Budwieser is the bootm of the barrle, projectile vomit. Millers, Schlitz, Pabst? some what better. I love to buy American goods everytime I can find them, but when it comes to beer? Unluss it’s a good reputation micro brew, sorry, but the American mass produced, just don’t cut it.

Bottle-Pours a dark mahogany color with a small tan head and virtually no lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, with some spice and bit of sugar sweetness. Flavor of roasted malt, some dark fruit sweetness and bit of spice. Very subtle bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, smooth and creamy. Nice touch of alcohol warming. Very well balanced. Very enjoyable. Nice offering of the style. Good beer to relax with.

Malty aroma, thin head with limited lacing. Dark brown / black in color with white head. Very light carbonation. Complex malty character, with smoke and caramel in abundance. Thin mouthfeel. Overall very good.

Deep chocolate malty aroma. Pours a deep clear brown with a tan head that fades quick.Sour with a hint of sweetness. The roasted malts are on the strong side.

Bottle
Aroma: dark fruits, malty
Taste: again with the dark fruits and huge maltiness
This is an amazing Dopplebock. I understand why it sets the standard. Had this at one of my top ten live concerts. What a great beer experience.

Gift from my brother-in-law. Beer pours a Dark mahogany-brown pour into thick tan head that quickly dissipates into a ring of foam around the glass. Aroma of malty roasted chocolate and sweet fruit. The aroma flavor of sweet malty caramel that fades into bitter dark chocolate with a smoky, buttery nut finish. This is a good beer i will drink

From a green glass bottle. Smell is of a German hopped brew, nothing skunked Looks dark brown, opaque. Taste is sweet malts but lacking in the chocolaty roasted notes and full body you expect with the style. Slight sour note. Boozy/hoppy finish. Not bad, but a bit sweet and thin.

Reddish color in the glass. Medium head. Aroma is caramel and a little grass. Taste is pretty mild. Sweet finish due to the caramel malt. Burns in your mouth with alcohol just a little. It is slightly creamy too.
