Not my normal beer fair however outstanding flavor that hides the high alcohol well. Be careful with this stuff it will sneak up on you if you have more than one. I did not even realize the high content until I had three of them. Then I went wow.
I got it on tap at the Berlin Cafe in DC

From bottle. Aroma is malty and bready with a touch of berries. Flavor is more malt and bread, with more of those sugary berries on the initial attack. Good carbonation and body. Hides its alcohol well. A decent beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 fidel (1302) - Livermore, California, USA - SEP 10, 2008
Dark brownish amber, slightly roasted malts, bready, little brown sugar, little nutty, slight chocolate.

Poured from bottle a brown color with medium sized tan head. Aroma is of sweet malt and bread. Flavor is very malty with a brown sugar sweetness, toffee, a little nuttiness, and bread. Palate start s bit sticky sweet and then mellows out slightly with a very big malty feel and nice carbonation. Normally I might think this beer is too sweet, but this day it seem to flow just right with the spicy, cheese barbeque food I was having. It was quite nice.

Wow! This is amazing. The flavor realy blew me away. Just a great full bodied beer if I’m not in the mood for hops....which is very rare.

I’m not a big fan of the style, finding it much too sweet and lacking bitterness, but it is the style. This beer handles it’s 7% alcohol very well. It is well balanced with a lingering maltiness that becomes sweet.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beerbill (2850) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 2, 2008
On tap at the Germany pavillion in Epcot. Pours brown with a moderate tan head that lasted through mid-glass. Pleasant, rich, malty aroma. The flavor is very rich malt with a bit of brown sugar and caramel. Light bitterness at the finish. Nearly full bodied with a well-rounded mouthfeel. Maybe it was the midday heat in Epcot, but I thoroughly enjoyed this beer and thought it was quite good!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JuStuka (201) - Edo De Mex, MEXICO - SEP 1, 2008
Light brown color, aroma of toffee, grain, and slightly roasty, smooth, a real good doppelbock.
