Chocolate, roast, and a touch of smoke in the nose. Deep brown with a very small cream colored cap. Balanced without any distinct hop bitterness. Full bodied with a bittersweet finish.

Bottle. A- Dark fruits, raisins, brown sugar, caramel, gummy bears, slightly sweet, malty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Malty, dark fruits, caramel, slightly sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- I’ve heard this was a good beer but I didn’t expect it to be this good. Very easy to drink and full of dark fruit and caramel flavors. Very well balanced and really no complaints at all on this one.

This is one of my top 2-3 beers. Great caramel taste. Brownish color with great aroma. Broad distribution and pricing also helps.

12 oz bottle into a dimpled mug. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a medium tan head that slowly fades into a disk on the surface. Moderate lacing. Nose is very faint dark malt. Taste is dark roast malt and a hint of cocoa, with a moderate hop finish. Very smooth. A classic.

Pours deep clear amber with a small white head. Heavy malty aroma also some caramel malt and bread. Flavor is sweet, again dominated by malt and some bread. Quite full-bodied

I poured this into a weizen glass thinking it was a weizen bock, woops my bad. Anyways, here’s the rest. The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a thick two and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some speckled light lacing glossing all around the glass. The smell had a nice roasty to sweet bready chocolate cinnamon baked sticky glazed honey. This was really nice. The taste was mainly bready sweet backed up by a nice sticky glaze of caramel bready malts. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it. There’s a nice sweet sticky caramel to cinnamon aftertaste with a super nice sweet roasty finish. Overall, big wow from me and the fact that I didn’t have it in proper glassware - I can only hope it would taste just as good and believe it would.
