Dark, malty and a little roasty...really good doppelbock! As another reviewer called it "very drinkable"!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aromas of toasty caramel malts, a little fruity, and faintly dusty Dark clear mahogany-ruby with a mostly fading off-white head. Dry, with caramel and toast in the forefront, some earthy hops to balance. Light-medium bodied, somewhat creamy, and finishes with notes of vanilla and caramel.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A doppelbock that can't be missed! Beginning with a nice fairly strong fruity and malty aroma along with a ruby brown color, this beer looks impressive. The flavor and balance between malty and sweet fruit notes does not disappoint and also hits the palate with a pleasant intensity. Concludes on a sweet cherry taste with surprisingly little bitterness. I enjoyed this brew, though the mouthfeel and body struck me as a bit thin and light. Distinct from its neighbor Paulaner Salvator in this regard, which i recall having a fuller body. That being said, it's still above and beyond average.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours reddish-brown with a off white head. Taste sweet, cherries, plums. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich mahogany with ruby hues. Bright clarity and bubbles rising to the top continually. A half finger of foam that fell quickly and left only a thin ring and slippery wet lace. Nose is lively with dark fruits like dried plum, raisin, fig and molasses. There’s toffee and a sweet caramel. Malty and rich. Has the lightest scent of almonds. Taste is sweet and vibrant. Malty and full with a buttery smooth caramel, toffee and some dark chocolate starting to evidence on this as it warms. Mild roast and a light hop herbal. The body is a bit thin and it’s slick. Finishes dry and with some spicy alcohol. Not enough to say there’s alcohol on the palate as it only warms slightly. The carbonation is ample and a bit strong.

On tap at Nik?s Wunderbar. Deep rich brown, malty aroma and oh so smooth. Whatever hops are there offset the heavenly maltiness perfectly, without intruding. Great brew!
