Bottle Pours a clear light gold with a fizzy white head that leaves quickly. Lacing is okay. Aroma is pilsnerlike with hints of bitterness. Has a light carbonation. Decent mouthfeel. The flavor is okay. Very soft but still has some decent sweetness. The body is light. Has a decent finish with an okay aftertaste. This is a fairly smooth beer and one you could pound for a little while.

Clear yellow pour. Sweet pilsner aroma. Not skunked, thank goodness. Sweet flavors, which was unexpected for a heller bock. Slight touch of bitter dryness. I am really impressed with this heller bock.

12 oz bottle from my old roommate Dave’s fridge in Seattle. Pours a light yellow with pretty much no head. Has a strong aroma of malt with some yeasty issues. Taste is mostly malt and grass with a very mild hop bite.

First time I have rated this, huh? Oh well, I thought I had at least tried this before. Anyways, gold in color. Looks decent. Could be a bit darker or have a more translucent look to it, but it is not horrible. Fairly pungent pilsner-type aroma. Decent hop aroma I must say; it is actually pretty pungent. Nice creamy palate. Not really much of a hop profile. Decent sweet bread/malt taste at the end. Overall, pretty good "common" beer if you ask me. Not bad at all. Reminds me of a pilsner.

On tap, served in a nonic pint glass. Clear gold with zero head, not even a bubble. The smell is a generic malt/bread smell. Flavor is medium sweet with some spicy noble hops. The palate is full and smooth, it doesn’t really feel like it was carbonated at all. This is a strange beer, a strange beer I enjoyed however.

I’m used to german beers being great. This was from the tap and the thing was rather flat, forming a small white head. Aroma was malty and the taste smooth enough. Did not leave an after taste.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden color with a thick head that lasts for a while. Aroma is very malty with a bit of hops. Taste is very doughy and a little bitter- like previous posts mentioned the alcohol taste is also very noticeable. Palate is average, full body. Good for a change of pace but nowhere near the optimator.

On tap at the Huber Haus. This is a big ass beer and don’t care what anyone else says. Every time I drink this, I’m wiped out by the strength, so i am skeptical that it is only 6.5% ABV. I think that the Germans are exporting harder shit i order to knock us on our asses. Dark gold with a very thick poofy white head, this beer has a strong bready malty aroma but packs a very thick syrupy high alcohol flavor. I keep drinking it, keep waking up with a hangover, keep swearing that I won’t drink it again, and then keep drinking it.
