Of all the IPAs I’ve had, this one is my favorite. It has the beautiful, clean finish with that "made in the basement" murky taste. If you enjoy IPAs, this will be the first one that I recommend. The only reason that I don’t give it the perfect score is that I do not think the perfect IPA is here on earth... yet

Transfer from BA review on 2-15-14- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed golden color with a one finger head composed of a billowy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is a mix of bready and cracker malt aromas with a decent showing of a grapefruit citrus and pine hop aroma. With a nice caramel and tropical fruit sweetness mixed within the aroma is rather inviting overall. Taste – The taste begins with a drier crackery and biscuit taste along with some lighter hop flavors of a more grapefruit nature. As the taste advances it sweetens up a bit with some lighter caramel flavors coming to the tongue and with the more cracker flavor fading a bit. At the same time the hop flavors intensity some with both the grapefruit hop growing stronger as well as some flavor of pine and grassy hop coming to the tongue. In the end, the mix of hop, malt, and sweetness leave a rather crisp and clean hopped flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. Both were quite nice for the crisp and hopped flavors of the brew, making for a very pleasant drinking IPA. Overall – A rather crisp and clean, overall drier IPA. Overall quite nice.

Pours a clear orange color, topped with average white frothy head. Mild citrusy aroma, pelasant, some other fruity notes. Citrusy notes in the body, followed by a fairly strong hoppy bitterness. Lasting aftertaste. Drinkable, nothing special really. Still nice.

Nice light fruity, floral aroma. Colour is paler than typical. Taste follows nose with smooth citrus and moderate lingering bitterness. A hint of vegetal hop character and some licorice. Carbonation seems light which lends to soft mouthfeel. Overall a refreshing IPA.

Bottle at home. Pours mostly clear orange with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is fragrant floral, fruity and citrus hops, pear esters and honey malt. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, light malt and esters, some alcohol notes and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Golden with a mild haze and a quarter inch of soapy, off-white head. Floral hop aroma with underlying biscuit aroma and an odd, fruity sweetness. Hops and cleaning solution. Spritzy carbonation. Eh...

Smooth IPA, nothing over powering or to bitter. Has a nice golden appearance and a crisp taste. I would recommend this beer.

ineedbeer (1100) - Oakland, California, USA - AUG 31, 2014
Poured from a 12 oz bottle dated 06/24/2014. Aroma is very citrus hop forward with lots of orange, tangerine and mandarin notes. Lighter grapefruit, stone fruit and tropical fruit. Light cracker malt background with some hints of caramel. Pours a clear, golden orange with a moderately sized, fairly thick, slightly off-white head that steadily falls into itself as it recedes. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor has a light sweetness upfront with some light cracker and biscuit notes with faint caramel. Moderately high bitterness with moderately strong hop flavor. Some light alcohol spice in the finish. Hop flavor is again, very orange citrus forward with lighter notes of other citrus. Some light tropical fruit notes with medium light resin in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a better beer than I remember from Speakeasy. The orange hop notes actually work with the slightly maltier body.
