No lightweight, Big Daddy I.P.A. tips the scales with a huge hop flavor and a dry, clean finish that leaves the scene without a trace.

Dry clean IPA not overly bitter. More pale ale to me. Nice light pale malt and spice body with piney and floral nose. Light in color with good alcing and easy drinking in balance.

Bottle: Excellent aroma. Tons of citrus aromas. Pours a dark gold with a small white head. As strong as the aroma is the flavor is a little watery. Light up front with a light hop finish. If the flavor was a little stronger this would be excellent. A little thin in the mouthfeel. Very disappointed after big expectations from the aroma, but donít get me wrong, itís not bad.

Golden amber color, fluffy off-white head. Nice, average hoppy aroma with malty caramel for balance. Hops go grassy and flowery in the taste. Unfortunately it isnít a huge flavor, and the finish gets a bit too dry. Otherwise, its an average IPA.

Fairly light golden pour, lots of carbonation, small long lasting head. Intense flowery hop aroma, very clean. Sweet malts, sugary up front, then nice bittering hops. Dry, nearly astringent finish. Good IPA, a bit dull, but very easy to drink and quite refreshing, indeed.

Bottle...Pale straw color with a medium fizzy white head. Pour is somewhat cloudy. Flowery aroma, reminds me of some old ladyís cheap perfume. Soapy aroma also. Sweetish start, hops come into their own in the middle, not overpowering. Bittering to finish, light texture on the tongue, kinda watery even. Certainly not spectacular, I like to find a little fruitiness maybe, all this has is grapefruit. Easy to drink, but kind of boring.

Major Thanks to DocLock for the recent MEGA trade!

Iím feeling a bit lonely on this rating. There are all these raves and now Iím about to tell you that, YeahÖ itís a very nice beer, but it truly didnít get me all bonered up! Pours a hazy copper body and tons of lacing. The aroma and flavor bring big malty notes, very grainy, rye and toasted wheat. There is also a zesty sugared note of grapefruit and caramel, with a hint of pine chips. It is a very nice beerÖ but Iím just not feeling any mind blowing charm.

Bottle. Thanks to jeffc666 for this! Pours amber with a small white head. Nose is hoppy and piney with some light malt notes and faint sweetness. Taste is very hoppy with some soapy notes, light maple syrup, pine needles, and light maltiness. Body is very dry and moderately carbonated. Some bitter notes and mild astringecy. Finishes with more big hops and pine with creamy malts, light sweetness and light fruitiness.

Good IPA, this is. A large head, it poured with. Magnificent aroma, this has... I found myself speaking like Yoda after drinking one of these. The only IPA Iíve had that I liked more was Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. Speakeasy has created the finest $7.99/6pk. IPA in the world with this. Kudos to Speakeasy.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2005 Pours dark gold thin fizzy white head, disappears quickly, leaves no lacing. Smells hoppy and a little citrus. KInd of dry and thing but refreshing. sharp hop taste that subsides to a semi-sweet taste. Real nice beer.

Bottle. Nice amber color with a quick fading white head. Nice lacing. Floral and citrus hops in aroma. Fair malt balance to the piney hop bitterness. A bit drying. Just a touch watery. Not a bad IPA.
