3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A wonderful floral hop aroma escapes from my tulip glass as I pour this beer. It produces an off-white head that is fairly resilient. It is a nice copper color, and is very clear with a nice bead of carbonation cascading from the bottom of the glass. There is citrus and fruit in the aroma. This is quite a dry beer. It has a big hop flavor and finishes with a nice hop bite. The hops dominate in this beer, nary a malt note to be found, save for a bit of toasty grain in the finish (but this is very subtle). This is a one dimensional hop bomb, could use a bit more malt expression.

dark yellow colour, medium sized white head, bitter but smooth taste (if that makes sense).

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light to medium amber color with a citrusy, hoppy flavor. The alcohol is well masked. The pine like hops and strength can be overwhelming.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2005 Orangeish-gold with a decent sized white head, waifs of citrus and piney hops. A well done but somewhat typical example of a west coast IPA, not that there’s anything wrong with that; if you are partial to this style then this will work well for you. I certainly enjoyed the bottle I had, and that includes the bottle graphics.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a clear bubbly golden color with a lasting white head. Had an initial disappointing taste but the hops and flavor stood out nicely as it warmed.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly orange/golden colour with a medium-sized dense white head-definately what an IPA should look like! Strong hoppiness in the aroma with hints of pineapply sweetness. Medium-bodied; Great citrusey hoppiness with some sweet characteristics. Aftertaste shows some hop bitterness but fairly subdued for the style. Overall a bit better than average for the style! I owe a great big deal of thanks to Phil (Haddon90) for bringing this 12 ounce bottle back all the way from California for me to sample on my visit to Knoxville on 28-September-2003.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great Bottle. A lighter, hoppier, more refreshing version than so many other IPA's. Incredible tasting - crisp and clean.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer pours a dark golden color, with a minimal off-white head. The aromas are mostly citrus with a hint of malt. The taste is somewhat hoppy, but the bitterness is a bit too agressive. Perhaps a poor combination of hop varities, or just a bad balance with the malt. The mouthfeel is good, but a little too thin to hold up to the bitterness. The aftertaste is mostly bitter citrus and a bit unnerving.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I'm a sucker for the West-Cost IPA's, so this one is right up my alley. Perhaps a bit "typical" but still very nice. Nice piney flavor.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden with a fine white head. Hoppy aroma with a mellow malt backing. Bitterness dominates from front-to-back. A little bit one-dimensional. Medium dry body.
