This is my favorite style, a citrusy bitter west coast American IPA. And yet, somehow, it just doesnít come as one of the best ó not a Stone, or a Rogue, or a Lagunitas. Beautiful golden color, lots of nose ... so whatís missing? Could it use more malt? Probably. Would more malt give it a less thin mouth feel? Probably. Is it too dry in the finish? Maybe not. I like it, but there are much better IPAs out there.

Big, earthy hop profile in the aroma and flavor. Crisp and has notes of citrus. Finishes very cleanly and dry.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2007 Original Rate, 5/28/05. Dark yellow color with a dishsoap-like foamy head. Smells a little like dust. Watery body and dominantly grainy taste with only a brief hit of hops at the start. 5-2-6-3-12 Re-Rate. Iím glad Skyview brought another bottle of this, as I obviously didnít care for it last time around. Floral hop and citrus aroma. Much more hoppy flavor with a lot of citrus. Slightly herbal finish. Much better.

Itís a very drinkable beer, but just canít stand up to the other IPAs Iíve had. I was fairly disappointed with it. It would make a really enjoyable APA. Maybe itís just mislabeled.

Big Daddy is a clean drinking IPA.. if you can even call it that. Although I dropped the bottle when I opened it, the head still came out nice and creamy. The color is a little light for my tastes. The hops aroma is alright, but I have definitely smelled better. This would be a good choice if you want to drink a lot of beers in a single sitting. Otherwise I would recommend picking up something else.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy golden with a tiny white head. Big citrus aroma. Taste is all hops, citrusy and light. One of the lighter IPAs I have sampled. Good hop taste, not much malt to back it up. Very light and crisp. Decent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
good hop smell right from the beginning. The pour was a light amber, a little light for a traditional IPA. The body was just a little on the light side, but the overall blend was pretty good. Nice hop finish. Not bad.
