3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big Centennial hop blast in the nose. The body is pale and the flavor even a bit laid back. Less intense than I expected, but terribly good and drinkable.

Tried this after drinking the Speakeasy Pale and there are some noticeable differances. While the hue is the same, this beer has a creamier head and very good lacing. The aroma is a pronounced western hop and roasted malt. Did detect the same butterscotch, spice and vanilla esters that the pale had however. The piney taste is also more to the forefront in this beer and the malt is even more sublime. Not much depth to this beer but at least it doesn't have the paper aftertaste that the pale did, a bonus. Overall, this is a weakling among American IPA's, not floral like the English either. Very average IPA but I'll still give this brewery one more chance next week in SF.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Apricot and hazy appearance. N-I-C-E fruity aroma without quite the hop edge of most west coast IPAs, but the Chinooks make themselves known in the slightly disappointing flavor. It's a bit less strong than I had expected. Still a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden, bried, average sized head. Aroma was of west coast hops and honey with a slight soapiness. Flavor was rather uneventful, just very hoppy with a dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
refer to my review of Drake's for my IPA tasting results. Ruination 1st, Drake's 2nd, Big Daddy 3rd, Stone last. Stone tasted better out of the bottle.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Once again, not much different from the Untouchable Ale. I love the bottles (all beers should use painted bottles). Fair amount of bitterness while pale in color.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Much paler than most IPA's and much more balanced than your typical west-coast IPA. The hops are there, just not overpowering.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2003 Pours a clear golden with a pillowy lacing white head. Body is smooth, lightly effervescent, and very dry. Lots of hop flavor throughout with a light touch of malt. Finish has a slightly strange chemical/artificial off-flavor to it, but overall, not a bad IPA. Needs more sweetness.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A pale amber color( lighter than most US IPA's, I suppose Roger Protz is happy). A medium rocky creamy white head. Slight pine aroma and taste. The bitterness sneaks up on you. Pine taste throughout.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I had high expectations for this beer. A light copper color, more like a light beer color. No sticky foamy head. Hardly any aroma. Not much hops and it seems there's more of a malt flavor than hops. Not as good as I had hoped.
