No lightweight, Big Daddy I.P.A. tips the scales with a huge hop flavor and a dry, clean finish that leaves the scene without a trace.

(Bottle) Sampled side-by-side with Sweetwater IPA. Pours a lightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Has a grapefruit aroma that will pick you up and slap you around a little. Descent hoppy flavor with a bitter palate.

Last 1/3 inch white head. Clean hoppy aroma, with a suprising sugar cookie accent to it. Gold body. Nice smooth hop bite, to me it seems like this IPA is underated. Good balance, and a solid IPA.

This brew has one hell of a great citrus hop aroma, but looking at the light golden color i knew it was going to lack a bit of maltiness. The taste is very one dimensional, just tons of hop with no support maltiness. Very clean and crisp with lots of hops the whole way through, but needed a bit more malt for my taste.

bottle-thanks to DrunkAsASkunk for giving me a bottle of this IPA-pours light orange with off white head around the glass edge. strong citrus aroma-pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, woody-kinda one dimensional if you ask me. flavros are mostly pineapple, orange and grapefruit citrus. Very astringent bitterness with no malt balance at all. a hop bomb. Slightly carboardy taste mainly due to the nature of this kind of IPA and a possibility of an old bottle. average ipa at best.

on tap at toronado. a good wake up call after the flight from sydney. full pine aroma, lychee and a hint of mango, quite bitter and a little grapefrity in the finish

Golden caramel, little head, bur good lace. Sweet, sweet hoppy aroma. Fairly thin on the palate and the taste simply doesn’t rock my boat. Weakest IPA I’ve had so far.

The aroma comes across extremely unbalanced to my nose. It is all perfume, in the aroma and flavor. Overall too light and fruity, and the perfume is really making the whole beer come across unbalanced. A slight disappointment.

California beers are great!!! I’m sure this one won’t disappoint. Terrific IPA. Awesome hops, good malts, clean citrus flavor that makes you want to drink beer. Wow, this is very very good. Don’t know what you’re having tonight but a rare few are having anything better than this. Again, a beer that I feel is seriously underrated. NoCal this is simply a gem. No need to hide this one anywhere. Great freaking beer!!!

12 oz, tulip. Toasted bread malt (L); perfume and herb hops (M); green apple and pear aromas. Small, creamy, white, diminishing head. Clear yellow-gold body. Lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter flavor becomes a lightly acidic, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: again with the perfume hops...at least this beer has redeeming qualities in the flavor and mouthfeel.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2004 First of all, a really cool bottle. Very stylish. Light gold, decent sized white head. Resiny, cedery aroma. Woodsy, piney flavors, with a citrusy touch at the finish. Clean and easy drinkin’ IPA here. This one was right after Yulesmith in our tasting, an unenviable position for sure, but it ended up holding up nicely. Well made session IPA. Thanks to Drunkasaskunk for this one.
