No lightweight, Big Daddy I.P.A. tips the scales with a huge hop flavor and a dry, clean finish that leaves the scene without a trace.

1/31/04. Poured out of 12 oz. bottle, bought at Liquorama in Upland, CA 1/30/04. Pours a crystal-clear, light honey-golden color with fluffy, rocky white head that lingers moderately with decent, sandy lacing. Pretty nice looking, but a little bit thin. Hard to knock it that bad though, because it's a purty little IPA. Aroma is pretty decent too-floral hops and a bit of citrus, some pepper but not much richness or depth. Flavor is, as I'd feared, a little too simple-- pointed, sharp hops with a medium-thin mouthfeel, a little watery but pretty silky. Finish is quick and easy, falling off just a little bit longer than a macro lager. Clean, I guess, but not savory enough for me, not even for an IPA. It tastes a little watered-down. Decent, but I'll take the Prohibition Ale any day.

Maybe this just doesn't travel well, but I wasn't real impressed with this beer. At first I thought it was some sort of novelty beer, but I guess these guys are a bonefide brewery. Bitter, little aroma, and not much else for me.

Mildy cloudy, dark golden body and a fluffy head. A bit of a citrus aroma - very refreshing flavor. Dry and hoppy, like a good IPA should be. No sweetness and not too heavy. Full mouthfeel and great, almost draught-like carbonation. A pleasant bitter finish. Toasty.

This IPA poured a cloudy amber color with a small head that quickly disappeared.Has nice carbonation though.Well all this is my first IPA rating, all I taste is hopps and malt, and lots of it.It was overpowering at first, but halfway through,I couldnt put it down.It has a nice flavor to it(although a bit watery)

Clear golden pour, pillowy head - candy and hops in the aroma - flavor is...umm..where's the flavor? and hops, where are my hops? - there is nothing in the initial flavor to distinguish this from bud - however, the finish is where all the good stuff happens - out of nowhere, hops and malts begin dancing around on the tongue in relatively abundant amounts - quite tasty at this point, urging you to take another sip, but when you do, there's that watery bud taste again - it's like the beer is constantly setting you up for something that it can't completely deliver - I don't know if I like that.

Nice golden color, small white head that faded quickly.Citrus malty aroma with a nice sweet and mild bitter and decent hop presence.Nice malt upfront then a decent change to hops citrus grapefruit and a slight pine forest taste. The finish is light with a nice after taste of semi-sweet citrus and hops.Another very nice brew from these guys and well worth getting if you can.

Hmm. Rather average all around. Again, I tried Speakeasy's Prohibition Ale and was quite fond of it. The other two offerings of theirs I've found simply okay. Pours a pure golden, almost a pilsner look to it as it's crystal clerr and has bubbles floating to the top. Decent head and great lacing, though. Smells like a typical IPA. Tastes average; like a typical IPA. Nothing special. Mouthfeel and drinkability are decent: nothing wrong with either. Bottom line: A decent IPA with a great label.

Pours a golden color with a small white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Fruity (mangoes, tangerines), citrus, hop aroma. West coast hop IPA taste. Clean and bitter hop taste. I wish it was just alitle sweeter.

Bottled, drunk while watching Tarkovsky at a bland suburban Chicago location. How many peple within a mile of us were drinking Old Style while watching Adam Sandler? Sometimes, its good to be a snob. Creamy medium head, light straw color, intense aromas of butterscotch, apples, cherries and hops, don't forget the hops. Amazingly creamy throughout, a tad just a tad on the thin side at the finish, nice bittersweet balance, nicely acidic, wonderful. And the Tarkovsky (the Westvleteren of directors) was great also.
