Location: Bomber from Hicksville Beer & Soda, 8/7/14

Aroma: This one has a pretty big, hoppy aroma, pine and tropical hops, with some caramel as well
Appearance: It pours a clear gold-orange with a thick froth of white head and some streaky lace
Flavor: The flavor is strongly hoppy with some sticky caramel, and a rather bitter close
Palate: The body is medium-full, a little sticky, smooth, with a long, rather dry finish
Overall Impression: This one is a dry example of the style, there’s some underlying caramel sweetness, but it doesn’t come close to balancing out the hop bitterness. This is actually a pretty interesting beer.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours orange tinged gold with a creamy/foamy off-white head. Aroma starts fruity, seems to move to pine. Lots of hop. Full bodied. There’s a lot of caramel, but there’s even more hop. It burns a bit. Seems to have green melon, other fruits. Pine? Citrus? Too much hop for me to dissect this. I’m suspecting Nelson or Mosaic is part of it. Nice little NZ type finish - meaning it’s there, but there’s lots more. Quite an ale!

Light retention and minimal lacing. Smells of grapefruit, cantaloupe and floral. Tastes of sweet malt, grapefruit and bitter lemons. Very bitter aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
