Surprised by such a high rating to be honest. It’s got hops, sure. It has some balance, but just seems to fall a little flat for me. Looks pretty. Smells a little citric, lemony in particular. The flavor is a little caramel, a little tart. But somehow it just seems a little bitter. A little flat. A little tart. Not quite right, not sure why.

Pours a golden color with some sediment and thin white head. Hop, grapefruit, orange, pine and biscuit aroma. Resinous hop, grapefruit, orange, pine, floral, caramel, dank and biscuit flavors. Medium full body and average carbonation with aggressive bitterness. Resinous hop, pine and slight booze finish.

Slick and sweet, but not so over the top as to make it more Barleywine than IPA. Nice pine sap and citrus aroma and flavor, a little sticky on the feel. Alcohol shows, but not to a fault.

July 27, 2015. Bottle, bottled May 29, 2015.
Cloudy pale yellow with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, pine, resin and citrus. Taste is medium sweet, malty and fruity with toffee, some watermelon, tangerine, resin, medium bitterness with lots of piney notes leading to a light to medium dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, light sticky texture.

One last bottle before going to bed and I walk into a triple IPA. One for the hopheads as this is big and piney. Not an overly clean pour with lots of floaties but I will assume that is the extra hops they added! For a TIPA it is not overly sweet on the palate, more a gentle reminder that your tastebuds are quietly being assaulted by the bitterness.

Bottle poured a murky orangish gold with a huge ice cream float white head and thick lacing. Aromas of juicy fruit, citrus hops, bread, and caramel malt. Flavor is medium bitter that lingers.

Not very good

Poured from the bomber into a shaker. Golden color with a cream colored head. Aroma is a big dose of resinous hops with lots of citrusy and floral notes. Flavor has a lightly bready malt backbone with lots of pepperiness and some floral hop notes. Medium bodied with a long finish. There are definitely DIPAs out there with a little more hop complexity, but this has a lot of great bitterness.

Tap into a shaker showing a well filtered bright honey color with a finger of clena white foam. The nose shows a lot of pineapple and cannabis. The palate is well carbonated, light bodied, with a lot of piney zest. Extremely pine forward (even then, I think I’m understating it). Very sharp IPA bitterness on the end.

Happy 26th Anniversary with my former employer. Bottle. Clear and deep golden. Fizzy head. But the aroma and drink are heavily resinous, full of sticky, pine-laden hop. Delish. (#6019, 8/8/2015)
