| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Clear and orange, malty nose with sweet body and slight hops throughout. Very smooth, which belies the high ABV. Verry drinkable, dangerously so! RoboHop (21), Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 1, 2007 The appearance (orange and cloudy) and aroma (hoppy and citrusy) make me think I was in for a real taste treat. But, it was very ordinary, and it actually had a watery element. Still, not horrible. hopson (596), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Loved this beer. From Sick Boy 282, thanks Alex. Really complex, and offers a lot more than others in this style. So many double ipa’s taste the same (which is great), but this one distinguishes itself from the crowd. Smooth as hell, citrussy fruity aroma, white head that disapates quickly...Tastes of a lot of different kinds of malt, grains, with some serious hop bitterness in the finish. Great flavor. Aroma of caramel, alcohol, and HOPS! The flavor is moderately bitter, caramel, with a good alcohol kick. Good brew. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2007 12oz bottle from Larry Pitonka. Aroma: Sweet malt with a nice caramel note upfront, hops kick in with a strong pine and resin character followed by some juicy citrus and some earthy hops. Appearance: Light orange in color and slightly hazed. Off-white head was full and foamy with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Malt upfront again with caramel, toasted bread, and honey. Hops are pine/resin, citrus, and earthy/floral. Medium-high bitterness. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: A nice beer, but a little light in aroma/flavor/bitterness for a top IIPA. Still, not bad and worth a try. jake65 (1760), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2007 Bottle: A lighter golden pour with a smaller white head, good lacing. Nose is mostly citrus and piney hops, some malty sweetness. Taste is smooth with a maltiness until the hops and alcohol come through. Nice, assertive finish is hoppy and warming. nolankowal (855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2007 Bottle. Orange pour with an off-white head. Aromas of booze, earthy hops and sweet caramel malt...but nothing too pungent which is kinda what I hope for with this style: pungent aromas. The flavor was of sweet malts, and oddly light hops which made me consider: "how old is this damn bottle, and how well was it stored?". Sort of a syrupy mouthfeel and finishes somewhat dry. I’d love to try another sometime...peferably very fresh...but as it stands now this one was kind of a mess.
