3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A hazy dark orange beer with a rim of beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of apricot and alcohol, the alcohol rips in the nose. The flavor is sweet alcohol, again the alcohol rips on the palate, but it also has strong notes of apricot and quite a lot of citrus, leading to a dry hoppy grassy end.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from multiple trades. Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, rosemary, and yogurt. Taste is citrussy with some mellow perfumey qualities. Mouthfeel is thick and oily. The alcohol is very well masked on this one which knocked me on my ass by the time I was finished with it. Smooth, velvety finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a great DIPA. Nice balance but the hops do shine through and make this a great example of this style. If you can find it, definitely give it a try.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Head is small, light tan with good retention and a film of sticky lace that stays put. Clear, orange colored brew. Big, piney nose, grapefruit and caramel malts abound. Body is med/full with a coating oily mouthfeel. An abundance of hop flavors, pine, grapefruit, more citrus, oily, resinous with berry notes too boot. Medium sweet malts, caramel and a bit grainy, bready. Finish is a touch sweet balanced out with a solid hop bite. Thanks Craig!

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle purchased at the Nugget in South Davis, CA. Sweet, sticky, malty, sugary lightly pine aroma. The malts are definitely much more omnipresent in the nose of this IIPA than the hops. Some ethanol is also present. Rather disappointing or an IIPA. Needs hop aroma! Mildly hazy orangey-color with a hint of copper. Decent off-white head that has nice staying power. Fairly attractive. Sharp, bitter pine hops to start, becoming very sweet, sticky, and somewhat cloying in the middle. Some ethanol burn is present later on, with some bitter, grapefruity hoppiness. All in all, the hoppiness seems pretty subdued for the style and it being a west coast IIPA. This is balanced too much in flavor of the malts and it tends to be more of a cloying, sticky mess than an impressive, assertive, big beer. Disappointing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly cloudy golden with small head. Good hop aroma with strong malt backing. Very solid and balanced IPA. Iím starting to enjoy these balanced IPAís just as much as a hop-heavy brew....but, Iím still a hop-head. Yum.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks Tom. Very lightly hazed golden color with a smaller, but stable off-white head. Huge caramel, dry malt, grapefruit pith and light fruit aromas. Incredibly smooth and balanced both in palate and the flavors. LIght pale malt and raisin flavors are joined by mild citrus and pine by mid quaff. I would say this has mellowed with some age, but I think it has justed added to the balance and smoothness. For some reason the "tameness" is not a quality, rather a sign of "weakness". If all 9.5% brews were like this world would be a much more dangerous place.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
12oz bottle from the first bottle release poured a hazy orange/gold color with a quick fading white head. The aroma was big caramel and butterscotch, I think from diacetyl. The taste was butterscotch with a touch of hops and some small alcohol notes. Think I will have to try and get a new bottle and try it again, maybe they had some bottling issues with this one.
