UPDATED: MAY 7, 2006 An extremely seductive and drinkable IIPA. Pours an amber/orange with a decent creamy white head. Very fruity and well balanced hop aromas. Grapefruit, apricots, tropical fruits, slightly flowery. A dangerously high alcohol, yet very quaffable beer.

Nice golden amber with just a touch of orange. Light creamy head [didnít last too long though] lace down the side was not super thick, but present. Smell, somewhat hoppy/grassy, nice but not exceptional. Good ipa taste.. strong, but not over noticeable alcoholic [but could certainly feel the affects afterwards. Nice beer a little expensive, but would like to keep in my rotation

Thanks to tannertavernboys for sharing. The aroma on this thing is fantastic - lots of floral / citrus hops with some rich caramel undertones. Pours a clear golden color with a white rocky head. The mouthfeel is lighter than expected and very with very low carbonation. There is a light hoppy taste at the at the beginning with the finish being very piney and sour. Didnít expect that from the aroma. The finish also had a bit of prickliness, probably from the piney aspects. This was a good beer, but as far as IIPAs goes it doesnít rank at the top. I will have to have again at a later date.

Clear coppery amber. Off white creamy head. Light hop aroma with some bready caramel. Starts with a great IIPA hop character... they cut right in to the tastebuds. Some orange, pine and flowers. Nice sweet caramel backing. Cheap IPA astringency and soap lingering late in the finish. Very enjoyable IIPA. If I recall correctly, this is one of the fairly original IIPAs that I had on my list when I first started. Thanks to Alex for sending it my way!

Bottle. This beer is hazy pale orange in color with virtually no head. smells of citrusfruits.1st tastes of grapfruit then finishes smooth and dry. Body is thin for a double ipa but this makes it more drinkable for some. the alcohol is well hidden

From Bottle. Honey lemon golden pour with a nice medium white head that quickly diminishes to a soapy ring. Citrusy aroma of white grapefruit and mandarin oranges. Some brown sugar sweetness decorates the bouquet as well. Thick and creamy mouthfeel with flavors of mango sprinkled with orange zest. Gobs of piney hops come rushing across the palate immediately after swallowing. Some of the brown sugar sweetness lingers on the edges of the tongue, but the hops blast is rather one-dimensional: harsh and astringent pine. Final smack of Beefeater gin garnished with a lime rind. Quite pleasing overall, but I would have been further impressed by a more complex hops profile.

Bottle. Yellow and orange in color with a nice lacing and fluffy white head. Hoppy and citrusy aroma. Orangey piney notes. Hoppy and malty flavor. Nice hop bite. Finish is bitter. Well balanced. Very drinkable. Enjoyable.

From bottle. Pours golden hued with a white head and decent lacing. Nose is floral hops with some citrus notes. Flavor changes things up with grassy/hay hops. Palate is light, for a DIPA, with a somewhat bitter finish. This is disturbingly drinkable for 9.5% beer!

12 oz. bottle. Pours hazy gold with thin head. Nice grapefruit aroma and flavor. Loaded with (centennial?) hops and flavor. Bitter finish. This one gets the job done nicely.
