4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazed peachy orange, lasting creamy white head. Intense hoppy nose of apricot, mango, evergreen, and tangerine, with faint floral, toffee, and caramel notes. Razor sharp bitterness up front with a citric green hop charge, some earthy notes throughout, and a very soft sweet malt backbone. Scales tip to the hop side no doubt. Full bodied, soft carbonation, very dry, bitter finish. If you dig the hops, find this brew now. Very nice...

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle. Orange with a small white head. Poor aroma for a IIPA. Not enough malt. Kinda watery. Hides the alcohol well.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 25, 2007 Bottle - really really good. Crisp with a bright and full aftertaste. At 9.5% this stuff will kick ya in the shorts! Not as hoppy/bitter as a few others I have sampled. Seems the more IPA I have I want them more and more hoppy/bitter.

4.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
One of "THE" best IPAís that iíve had in a long time. I normally get burned out on an ipa that i like, the taste is usually hit/miss. But not this! Itís hard to come by and available only in 4 packs. If you come upon it, buy it!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of Bockeyhorsy. For once, a CA IIPA that is not in a fricking bomber! Yes, I am a fan of 12oz bottles, because I like to drink during the week, and sample more than 1 beer in a sitting. Pours orange, with little head and light carbonation. Nice aroma of floral hops (pine) and caramel. Flavor is hoppy with not much malt to balance it out. But the hop profile does not bite, or feel too resiny, so I donít really donít think it needs more of a malt profile. Texture is a tad watery. Finish is dry, grassy, and bitter. Bitterness lingers nicely. Very interesting IIPA. Sort of like the texture of an english bitter zapped with an american west coast hop profile.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2006 Pours a transparent light golden color with a thin wispy white head. Sweet caramel malty aroma has a nice green piney and grapefruity citrus hoppy presence. Starts sweet and pale malty well-balanced with a ton of fresh citrusy green hops. Very drinkable, crisp finish hides the alcohol well. A nice double IPA, but needs a touch more sweetness and body. Thanks to wohlfs for the bottles!

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours like a lighter pale ale- blonde in color with a very thin, white head. Upon pouring, I wasnít expecting much. Looks watered-down, but definitely does not smell or taste watered-down. Aroma and flavor is pure flowery hops. I donít notice an citrusy hops here, pure flowery flavors. No malt here. This is GOOD.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2008 Bottled. Pours a just slightly murky apricot color with a wispy bright white head that is really more a lacing. Oranges and pine jump out of the glass as it nears my nose, thereís tons of grapefruit as well plus some flower notes. Flavor is slightly thin and very bitter, hardly any sweetness or malt presence which is actually pretty impressive in a beer of 9.5%. Iím guessing a few of these would get you into some trouble (think IIPA version of jello shots) Very easy drinking and probably one of the better aromas of all the Doubles out there.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very well hidden ABV. Nice smooth hop flavor, lots of citrus. The hop bite is just right, crisp without the lasting bitterness. A little pricey for a 4 pack is my only complaint.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer after its pour from the 12-ounce brown bottle sets in the glass a hazy golden amber color with a semi-creamy light tan head that is modest in size, after its slow demise, the lace forms a thick and sticky sheet upon the glass. Ah, the nose a blend of sweet malt, citrus like crispness, and the ever present hop floral aroma, quite a treat to this old schnozzle. Start is somewhat sweet with a pleasing grain presence, the top light to moderate in its fell on the palate. Finish is dynamic in its hop spiciness, the acidity tolerable, and the aftertaste dry as a bleached desert bone, a nice drinkable beer, but Iíd be remiss if I didnít say you better like hop bitter beers
