This double IPA was very smooth. It was very enjoyable, the high abv level was faint, hard to believe itís 9.5%. Cirtus aromas, this beer is loaded with hops. Overall delicious. Instant hop fix.

Bottle. Golden yellow pour with decent lacing head. Large grapefruit rind and citrus aroma, with some amounts of sweet caramel. More huge hop flavors - grapefruit rindy, decently balanced with sweet caramel hops. Alcohol was decently hidden and the beer was warming.

Translucent and magnifying copper orange in color with an admirable, super creamy, mossy white head and resplendent snow blasted lacing. Aroma could go either way. Grapefruit skin, orange rind, pineapple laden fruit salad, orange toffee and some husky qualities. Tasty, yet seemingly easy going flavor profile. Hop bitterness resounds most in its wake, along with a signal to its alcohol presence. Spicy orange zest and caramel concoction. Palate pinching, as papaya and grapefruit - both freshly squeezed - seep into the flavor realm. Spritsy, and mildly oily and bitter on the backend. Sweetness is conspicuous early on, but levels out mid-sip and gains momentum. Very clean chafe in the finish, pulling out papaya and orange pulp amidst toffee buttercream. Thanks for the bottle, Styles!

POurs with a clear, deep golden body, topped by a thin head with little lacing. Itís full of hops with notes of pine and grapefruit as well as an underlying malty sweetness and a touch of spice. Full bodied and smooth.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2007 Light golden color with a fine, creamy head. Begins with vibrant fresh hops in the aroma then follows with notes of fruit, earth, citrus and pine bark which round out an overall darker hops profile. Less hops flavor than I expected from the aroma and for a double IPA. Has some firm bitterness but is not much hoppier than a standard CA IPA. Light mouthfeel with well-balanced alcohol. Quite a good beer but not an extreme double IPA.

While the beer had oxidized somewhat, it still wasnít bad. Which means it wasnít really good either. I was expecting serious hops for a IIPA but it didnít deliver. I think a revisit might be in order in a few months to get a better opinion of what this is about.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium (see through) amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit and caramel. Tastes of initially caramel that gives way to the hops (citrus and a little spiciness). Alcohol content hidden.

Hazed peachy orange, lasting creamy white head. Intense hoppy nose of apricot, mango, evergreen, and tangerine, with faint floral, toffee, and caramel notes. Razor sharp bitterness up front with a citric green hop charge, some earthy notes throughout, and a very soft sweet malt backbone. Scales tip to the hop side no doubt. Full bodied, soft carbonation, very dry, bitter finish. If you dig the hops, find this brew now. Very nice...

12 ounce bottle. Orange with a small white head. Poor aroma for a IIPA. Not enough malt. Kinda watery. Hides the alcohol well.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2007 Bottle - really really good. Crisp with a bright and full aftertaste. At 9.5% this stuff will kick ya in the shorts! Not as hoppy/bitter as a few others I have sampled. Seems the more IPA I have I want them more and more hoppy/bitter.
