Very good DIPA, on tap at The Cannery. Cloudy orange and Lacey. Big hops, hop aroma, fruity apricot. Good drinking for the style. Dry hop and toasted malt finish. Fuller mouthfeel with a good malting.

(Speakeasy Double Daddy IPA) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a teku glass, ABV 8.5% Clear body, bright golden orange colour on it, with two full fingers of thick and creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Citrusy aroma from the moment I open the bottle, now even more in the glass, orange peel, caramel malts, pine. Taste is mildly sweet for a moment, then nicely bitter although nothing extreme. Caramel malts, biscuit, citrus, very well hidden alcohol, orange peel, even more bitter aftertaste with long duration. Medium body, good amount of carbonation, pleasantly dry on the palate. Very good.

650ml bottle. Pour is golden with reddish hues. Head is consistent and last throughout. Aromas of fruit ( melon, apricot, grapefruit mostly) and pine resin. On the palate you can expect a mild bitterness. That bitterness mingles nicely with the ABV. of 8.5%. Bitter aftertaste slowly gives way to the fruitiness of the malt, Solid effort.

Bottle. Golden, average and mostly lasting head. Moderate malty and lightly sweetish aroma, faint caramel and some tropical - floral fruitiness, grapefruit - piney hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and light - floral tropical fruitiness, grapefruit - some piney/herbal, hoppyness, faint alcohol. Finish is average, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, faint caramel and light fruitiness with piney/herbal - some grapefruit hoppyness, light alcohol. Dryish and well hopped IIPA - not too sweet/not too much caramel. Really nice fruity and hoppy aroma.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a nice looking transparent amber color. Carbonation was seen at the beginning moderately rising and then as the beer warmed up, there was none seen. The head was about a fingerís worth of white foaminess. Lacing clung nicely all around the glass. The smell had a moderate bittersweet citrus and piney hops being graced with a nice set of grassy hop oils. Light sweet onion arranges itself in and around the aroma. The taste was mainly bittersweet all around. Sweet onion, grassiness, pine and citrus blend eloquently and give off a nice sharpness on my tastebuds. A light citrusy aftertaste runs into a nice sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel about it. Carbonation ran fairly smooth to allow the bittersweet to become the harshness trying to wreck the palate. Overall, this was a well done DIPA. It does everything itís supposed to do.

From bomber, pours a clear light orange with a one-finger white head that stays nicely and leaves a lot of sticky residue and lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste of citrus and orange candy with additional spice in the taste and a strong malt presence over the bitterness. Medium to full sticky mouthfeel and a nice bitter finish. Props for the handsome bottle art. This is a very nice DIPA.

22 bomber to cervoise. Pours clear orange amber, small white frothy head. Aroma of orange zest, caramel, cereal, honey, lots of candied fruit. Taste is same with black pepper, cayenne, some pine. Finish is pine, spice, and grapefruit rind. Medium to heavy syrup mouthfeel.

Hazy gold pour, foamy off-white head. Aroma is peppery, spicy, citrus, floral, caramel. Flavor is spicy, grapefruit, pine and caramel. Very decent.

From bomber to tulip glass. Aroma is dominated by malt, with both a tropical hop aspect and alcohol noticeable in the background. Pours a clear orange, copper with a moderate large white head that lingers with various sized bubbles. Taste is a little cloying and slight alcohol heat. This is much more malt forward than hop forward. Piney hops start to show well as it warmed, but the hops are one dimensional. Bitter finish.

Hazy golden colour with a small white head. Strong tangerine and fruity hops in the aroma. The flavour is sweet fruity hops, peach, mild grapefruit and moderate bitterness. Balanced and tasty.

22 oz bomber served in a tulip glass. Pours dark orange golden with thick white head. Aroma is faintly sweet caramel malt and big earthy hops with a slight citrusy sweetness on the back. Taste is big medium caramel malt and dank piney bitter hops. Lingers substantially bitter on the finish. Lacks the nuance and balance of the better west coast DIPAs, this is still an old favorite and delivers plenty of flavor.
