4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
As a huge fan of Big Daddy, I had to try this. As other posters have mentioned, the high ABV is not obvious in the taste. A great IPA from one of my favorite breweries. Note: I might be a lightweight but this beer "caught up" with me fairly fast after finishing, you definitely want to moderate your intake.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Sensoric. Golden, clear with big, semi-densed, white head. Medicore head retention and lacing. Light aroma of tropical fruits, mainly passion fruit and some citral notes (orange). Highly bitter and dry, some biscuity notes. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, finish is very dry and very bitter. In general highly ABV, dry and bitter IIPA. None of hoppy aroma I think partly due to transport condition - hops are oxidized.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Speakeasy Double Daddy IPA) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a teku glass, ABV 8.5%
Clear body, bright golden orange colour on it, with two full fingers of thick and creamy, white head.
Citrusy aroma from the moment I open the bottle, now even more in the glass, orange peel, caramel malts, pine.
Taste is mildly sweet for a moment, then nicely bitter although nothing extreme. Caramel malts, biscuit, citrus, very well hidden alcohol, orange peel, even more bitter aftertaste with long duration. Medium body, good amount of carbonation, pleasantly dry on the palate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
650ml bottle. Pour is golden with reddish hues. Head is consistent and last throughout. Aromas of fruit ( melon, apricot, grapefruit mostly) and pine resin. On the palate you can expect a mild bitterness. That bitterness mingles nicely with the ABV. of 8.5%. Bitter aftertaste slowly gives way to the fruitiness of the malt, Solid effort.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking transparent amber color. Carbonation was seen at the beginning moderately rising and then as the beer warmed up, there was none seen. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess. Lacing clung nicely all around the glass.
The smell had a moderate bittersweet citrus and piney hops being graced with a nice set of grassy hop oils. Light sweet onion arranges itself in and around the aroma.
The taste was mainly bittersweet all around. Sweet onion, grassiness, pine and citrus blend eloquently and give off a nice sharpness on my tastebuds. A light citrusy aftertaste runs into a nice sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel about it. Carbonation ran fairly smooth to allow the bittersweet to become the harshness trying to wreck the palate.
Overall, this was a well done DIPA. It does everything it’s supposed to do.
