Sampled during RBSG 7/10/2009 on tap at the brewery. This porter pours a dark black color from the tap. Medium to small sized beige foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla beans and a touch of oak. A medium to full bodied porter. The malts are chocolate and coffee, with some roasted malt. The hops are earthy and floral. Strong chocolate and coffee flavors in this one. There is a hint of wood as well. Nice balance. Good Carbonation. I kind of wish the body was a little fuller. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter chocolate.

10 ounce sample on tap at the brewery for RBSG. Nice, sweet, chocolate roasted notes in the aroma. Very pleasant and aromatic. Mahogany body with a tan-brown head. Lightly vinous, roasted choco flavors with a nice, slight hoppiness to finish. A little dryness is also there. Pretty well-balanced and nicely done.
