COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prohibition Ale is a boldly hopped amber ale that strikes a perfect balance between caramel maltiness and its aggressive hopping.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma of citrusy hops, yeast and nutty malt. Taste is rich and crisp. Caramel malt, tangerine hops and red berries nicely balanced on the pallet. Starts sweet. Then finish is long, dry and moderately bitter. Good carbonation. A very tasty and solid amber.

Bottle from wittales. Clear amber pour, offwhite head, spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel mostly - some cherry, some light pine hops, some jolly rancher candy, but mostly amber caramel. Moderately sweet, light bitterness. Medium body, slick texture. Overall: solid amber.

@ The Ginger Man à Manhattan. En fût. Bière ambrée foncée avec une mousse blanche. Une drôle d’odeur de savon se dégage de cette bière. Des effluves de caramel sont aussi présentes. La bouche est malheureusement dans le même registre avec du savon au caramel.

Tasted at Willow Park Beer Bash 2014. Unfortunately, there was no time for detailed notes - and I only made it through half my list even so!

Bottle. Copper pour with a small foamy head that fades to a thin film and a nice ring around the glass. Aromas are nuts, herbs, apple sauce, citrus, flowers, and biscuits. Tastes pretty malty at first with a moderately bitter finish. Caramel apples, citrus, nuts and biscuits stand out the most. I expected it to be a little hoppier. Medium body. A little creamy. Solid amber ale.

Thanks to iNBe. Almost red rather than amber in color. Fresh hops with a mellow malt to balance. Really quite a good all around beer. Serving: Bottle

Bottle at home. Pours clear tawny with a large, frothy beige head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt, dates, apple esters, herbal and earthy hops. Flavor is sweet malt, medium earthy hops and bitterness, apple esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

At a tasting, thanks zvikar, small stable bubbly head, aroma of fruit and jam with some malt in the back, dark biscuit flavour with with some jam and a hint of smoke and a quite strong herbal bitterness, a bit too sweet and heavy. Fair.

"pretty well balanced...nutty malts, and a touch of bitterness and citrus from the hops. floral and nutty on the nose. thin-medium bodied. good looking dark amber beer."
