Prohibition Ale is a boldly hopped amber ale that strikes a perfect balance between caramel maltiness and its aggressive hopping.

Bottled New Year’s Day evening session at home Bought at Bellingers Garage, Grove. My only new beer on NYD and it was the weakest of the evening in competition alongside Christoffel Bier, Greene King Strong Suffolk and Girardin Gueuze Black Label. It pours amber with a short-lived off white head. It has a nice fruity hoppy nose but the sweetness from the malts are definitely evident. Taste is quite sharp fruity bitterness. Again an over effect of sweetness from the caramalt. Ok but needs mellowing out.

Courtesy of Hollingshead Deli in Orange, CA. This beer was certainly a pleasant surprise. Usually these gimmicky-type bottles house awful beers. Pours a thorough amber color with a medium thin and quickly dissipating light beige head. Very thin lacing. Assertive floral hops aroma. Excellent balance of hops and malt in the flavor. Nice, clean finish is bitter and a little spicy. Very good.

Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep amber pour. Creamy off-white head. The nose is lovely. Light orange peel and a little bit of pine as well. Lightly biscuity with a touch of crackery character and some soft biscuity malts. Moderate bitterness with a lot of fresh, juicy citrus on the back. Excellent balance. More APA than amber, but this is a great sessionable ale.

Clear dark burgundy. Floral hop aroma. Spiced cinnamon and peache flavor, with a cherry taste hidden beneath. Speakeasy has probably the most consistently-finest smelling beer I've tried.
