Nice amber color with a small tan head. Hops aroma but does not overwhelm. Hops are balance with a very mellow malt that has a nice sweet taste of sugar. The body is medium the texture thin and a slightly bitter finish. Enjoyed this beer because of the malt.

Very nice amber. Actually, one of the best of the style I have tried. Why? I love the assertive hops first of all. Most ambers I try are wussy in the hop department. Prohibition is doing something illegal with these hops man. Yet the beer is backed by a fairly solid caramel malt bakbone, providing decent balance.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
citric to floral hop aroma and flavor. the flavor is balanced well between the malt and hops in the middle of the taste and then the hops run away with it as they often do in the end. good looking amber color with good lacing from the slightly beige head. good medium body.

Bottle. Poured a dark copper color with a slightly off white head that didnt seem to stick around. Taste and smell of caramel. Not to much hop or malt stuck out, but just enough to make this a very enjoyable beer.

Bottle pour. Dark amber with tan head. Caramel and resin aroma. Thick creamy palate. Great taste with caramel, cereal, resin, and a light chocolate aftertaste.

Slim 30 keg pour at Evernote. Aroma is caramel, burnt sugar, malts, pine tar. Taste is caramel malts, chicory, and hoppy. Some alcohol burn and bitterness on the finish. A little too up and down between malts and hops for me.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden amber in color with a little bit of cloudiness to it. Smells almost exclusively of sweet malt (I donít know if that is a good thing or a bad thing for you; for me - good). Found it not as well-hopped as advertised, perhaps overwhelmed by the malt? Slightly bitter as well. Very nice ale.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A clear mahogany beer with a small off white head that doesnt last. Aroma is mostly bready and toasty malt. Flavor is much of the same with some fruitiness; prune and fig maybe. Mouthfeel quite chewy and syurpy. Iím not a fan of amber ales but this is quite solid. A bit of a watered down arrogant bastard, maybe.
