3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I like this beer better than the speakeasy IPA. It has a bit more balance and character too it. It’s still very hoppy, but has a little bit more sweetness and nutty flavor to balance the dry hops. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Decent amber ale, moderate body. Malty finish. Hops present arent as aggressive as I thought they’d be. Drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2005 Bottle. Great fresh hop aroma. Taste is more true to an amber than the label of "aggressive hopping" might suggest. Lots of toasted malt to go along with the hops and a very sweet finish, almost sugary. Tea and orange flavors.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet malty aroma, dark copper red, surprising for apple ale. Tastes maltose than a typical pale with nice bitter hop finish. Solid, not awesome.

US trip Aug/Sept 2009 - Bottle - some caramel and hints of corn, maybe DMS. uninspiring and slightly astringent but looks really good in the glass

Pretty nice, malty goodness. $6.99/6 pack at Market of Choice in OR. I’d do it again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I was moderately dissapointed in this beer. It had a nice sweet taste but wasn’t very full. The aftertaste wasn’t very good and the taste did not linger. Not a bad beer but was expecting more.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is described as amber ale but ESB seems the proper style. It is aggressively hopped and laces up on the glass. The floral aroma and fruity character make this a greatly enjoyable beer.

There is a very grainy malt tinge to the nose. It pours clear dark copper, with a thin head, but it lingers. It starts out a bit too sugary and sweet then ends like a handful of pine needles. I’m just not enjoying the mix. An interesting, different kind of taste, just not one I really enjoy.
