Prohibition Ale is a boldly hopped amber ale that strikes a perfect balance between caramel maltiness and its aggressive hopping.

DATE TASTED: March 3, 2014... GLASSWARE: Kisatsky’s Tavern pint.. OCCASION: a Strat and Game of Thrones night... APPEARANCE: intimidating dark amber body; thick, creamy, beige two-finger head that proudly sits a good duration... AROMA: beautiful balance of caramel malts and bright West Coat hops; low citrus, more aromatic and flowery...PALATE: good beer/head mix in the sip, with the creamy viscosity rounding full-bodied impact...TASTE: a BIG pale ale, as old and well-intentioned as the 18th amendment itself; big pine cone bite, warm and malty late... OVERALL: I came back to this beer a decade after I introduced it at a house party (it was wildly successful that afternoon)--and after taking it to a poker night, I found a similarly positive reaction; strong, demanding pale ale that gently shakes the teeth and smooth out the throat; the caramel especially sweetens the end...

Pours a hazy bubbly amber with a small diminishing fizzy white head. Nicely balanced aroma and flavour of mild hops and caramel malt. Quite carbonated and the body’s a tad thin.

Pint at dinosaur bbq Harlem, NY. Red colot slightly hazed short white head quickly dissipating. Dusty roasted malts with woody tones and hints of caramel with heavy bittering hops. Taste is quitw bitter dusty dry finish average carbonation. Overall the feel is very raw crude, homemade. I guess they intended that way, undefined and wild.

A good well balanced amber. Loads of caramel and toffee malts to balance the crisp, heavy citrus hops. Lightly grassy and floral with tons of zesty grapefruit and piney notes. Nice smooth malty flavour profile with a moderate bitterness on the end. Lingering but succinct hop bitterness.

Weak aroma almost none.hint of caramel malts. Lagery lightness in this beer. Nice balanced taste of body and bitterness. Overall quite simple with something unpleasant in that bitterness.

bottle. pours dark amber. small white head that leaves a Belgian lace on the glass. Very hoppy for an amber ale. other notes are caramel, toffre and biscuit.

Dark amber to light brown with a cream colored head. Some roasted grain and l in the aroma. Flavor is sweet malt with some dark fruit with a dryish burnt malt finish. Medium bodied. Nice go to beer when one tires of endless hoppy ales.
