Prohibition Ale is a boldly hopped amber ale that strikes a perfect balance between caramel maltiness and its aggressive hopping.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2014 Pours a deep amber color with a 1 inch tan head. Smell is malty and surprisingly hoppy. Taste is very well rounded, lots of malts with the hops to suffice. Medium body with a bitter finish. A bold amber ale, very good.

This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber color with a nice looking foamy white head that dissipated fairly quickly. Spotty lacing glossed the sides of the glass. Semi-rings of the lacing is clingy. The smell started off with an ample amount of sweet caramel riding into the sweet sticky citrusy hops. The taste takes the previously mentioned flavors and melds together nicely. There’s a nice sweet caramel to orange aftertaste leading into the sweet semi-wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation is fairly light. Tangy to sweet orange caramel stickiness rides my tongue nicely. Overall, I say this was a pretty good Amber/Red ale. I’d have again.

Pours an amber brown with a thick offwhite head. Aroma of caramel malt and English hops. Taste is very malty with a bitter finish. Not very exciting.

Klare dunkel orangebraune Farbe, mittelgroße beige Schaumkrone. Der Geruch ist kräftig hopfig, harzig, Citrusfrüchte. Der Geschmack ist sehr hopfig, bitter, harzig, karamellig, reife Früchte.

Bottle at home. Poured a light copper Brown colour with a slight tanned head. Nose has caramel, toffee, almonds and nuts, malts, and earthy. Not my kind of beer

Pours a beautiful amber color with a dark, creamy head. A bold malty biscuit nose that opens with a smooth malty taste with a hearty aftertaste. Great brew! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Kalahana. Clear copper with some red highlights. Big pine and danky resin aromas on the nose. Taste is more balanced with some caramel sweetness coming through but the leans toward the hoppy side. Very well done amber. Nice bitter finish that lingers. Really solid.

Draft at Eulogy. Kicking the keg from a Speakeasy Philly Beer Week event. Mostly clear medium-dark brown pour with a soft foamy off-white head. Some nice lace. Bigger and darker caramel malts than expected for an Amber Ale. Reads more like a Brown Ale with a touch more hops (does not feel overly hoppy to me.) Best others of the style but not as good as the darker Speakeasy brews. Nice dry finish.

Restrained aroma in a deep brown pour. Full bodied taste tends to the hoppy side with a crisp clean bitter finish.

On tap in Palo Alto. Nice caramel body with medium head. Nose is malty, caramel and sweet. Taste also nice and malty. With crisp finish.
