3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A slight disappointment for me, given my great affinity for other Speakeasy brews, particularly Big Daddy. I found the finish to be a little watery as others have mentioned.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught sample @ The Rover. Pours hazy Amber with a big brownish offwhite head that leaves lots of thick sticky lacing in the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and slightly fruity with bread, caramel, grapefruit juice, moist grass, pine needles, minerals and peppery lemon zest. Taste is sweet, bitter, slightly malty and tiny fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with bread, caramel, grapefruit juice, tangerines, moist grass, pine needles, sichuan pepper and lemon zest. Solid amber. Most likely better fresh.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
shared with Konfuzzi, Dec./15. A complex, bold yet elegant Amber that is far from the dull pitfalls of the style. Nose of dark caramels, juicy orange and citrus hops and a hint of vanilla; in taste, the dark caramels have a wonderful and refreshing counterpart in the hoppy grapefruit, pine and bergamotte notes. Superdry, very clean finish, light bitterness. Wow!
