A good beer. Good amber color with a decent head. More hops than a lot of ambers.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Bottled New Year’s Day evening session at home Bought at Bellingers Garage, Grove. My only new beer on NYD and it was the weakest of the evening in competition alongside Christoffel Bier, Greene King Strong Suffolk and Girardin Gueuze Black Label. It pours amber with a short-lived off white head. It has a nice fruity hoppy nose but the sweetness from the malts are definitely evident. Taste is quite sharp fruity bitterness. Again an over effect of sweetness from the caramalt. Ok but needs mellowing out. obguthr (1079), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 1/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Moderately strong aroma of grapefruit with hints of rosehips. Tea colored, thin cream colored head. Watery mouthfeel, but well balanced flavor of malt and citrus hops. Traces of wood and walnut also present. Much hoppier than traditional ambers. The flavor follows almost exactly, with the sweetnees winning out over the hop bitterness. The color is red/brown, small head. The mouthfeel is medium thickness. The finish is mostly sweet, slight piney hops. Decent, not outstanding. KyotoLefty (1501), Kyoto, Japan

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of roasted, light pine and dough for the hops and yeast, with hints of toffee and pepper. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with fair lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear deep mahogany. Flavor is lightly acidic to start, then finishes faintly sweet and lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and finishes moderately dry. This Amber Ale has a nice hoppy side to it. BroSpud (617), , Massachusetts, USA
