Sampled in a bomber. Really quality malts and nicely roasted flavor. Well balanced
2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 gordonronco (1) - California, USA - MAY 24, 2012 does not count
Bitter, like espresso beans, nice caramel taste though. Tastes like more than 9.5%. Might be good for a slow cooking

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a medium foamy light brown head. Aroma is very roasty and chocolatey, with loads of woody, roasted malt, chocolate brownies, not much barrel presence, and a considerable hoppiness factor. Flavour is very woody, roasty and hoppy, with chocolate brownies to start, shifting to a very pronounced woody mid-flavour, finishing quite hoppy and bitter - slight boozy finish as well. Quite harsh with some jagged edges, though it’s solid overall. Becomes more and more harsh with each additional sip making drinkability low.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 eros47 (38) - Huntington Park, California, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Awesome stout. Smells very sweet. Right from the get go I detected a strong chocolate and coffe scent followed by a bit of smokiness. Barely detected any of the hops. Couldn’t smell any of the alcohol at all. Pitch black, light could was not visible through the liquid. Thick light brown/ khaki head. Three fingers of suds. This is truly a dessert beer. Very sweet, but not too sweet. I was drinking what I was smelling. A big heap of chocolate followed by coffe and a hint licorice. At the back end I got just a bit of bitterness that really helped balanced out all the other sweet ingredients. Thick and lightly carbonated. Awesome imperial stout. This beer is one of my favs.
Cheers

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured jet black with a thin, light brown head. Nose had diacetyl and roast. Well, this was a buttered, caramel popcorn, diacetyl of a beer. Was unfortunately because I was really looking forward to it. Hints of chocolate, roast, and malt sweetness.

Bottle. Quite the ’muscular’ pour ... deep midnight red with a colossal light brown head of unmoving foam. The aroma is resplendent with dark fruit, warming chocolate, and bitter coffee. This drinks with the expected mouthful of flavors, leaving your mouth with the impression of having chewed something gooey and sweet. There’s a lingering bitter finish. Well done. (#4583, 5/4/2012)
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 gyllenbock (2958) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 30, 2012
Bottle. (my first beer from this brewery)
Black with a large tan head. This one was really roasted both in the aroma and taste. Not that sweet with coffee, some chocolate and licorice. Descent stuff.

Draught and wonderful. Aroma is roast malt, chocolate and bourbon. Full bodied with no alcohol burn. Balanced chocolate, malt and hop, with caramel melts. Enough hops to keep from getting too sweet.
