3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Evil looking black pour with a big dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit, coffee, caramel, wood. A lot going on in this one. Flavor is a big burst of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is a little disappointing though. A bit thin and watery for what you’d like it to be. A hint of bourbon and a healthy dose of chocolate. This is a nice beer.

Served from a 22 oz bottle from OTM. The appearance is a deep brown-black with a medium foam brown head. The nose is deep roasted malts with coffee grinds and dark fruit sugars. The flavors have a sweet malts, sugary dark fruits, prunes, anise. Can be a bit over sweet at times. Full mouth with a good carbonation that sometimes feels too much with the peppery feel from the anise flavors. A good IRS.
