Draft served in a flight at Ground Control. Pours a clear mahogany with a big khaki head that leaves a good deal of lace in the glass. Aroma of rye, toast, leaves, and pepper - the nose is smooth and malty, and just a little spicy. The flavor is the same, maybe more toasty, though. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a dry, toasty mouthfeel. This went way beyond expectations. I don’t know why, this just hit all the right notes for me. Really well done.

Pretty dark to be calling this a red ale. SMell is malty and pretty much nothing else. Flavor is weird, has an almost band aid like off flavor, maybe a brett infection whcih seems to be getting rarer nowadays.

Pours a dark brown color with no head. Aroma of rye, grain, and nuts. Caramel flavor with some rye, grain, and nuts. Decent beer. Could have a bit more body.

what is going on with the taste after 20 seconds the other taste hits. pours reddish, dont bother with any head.

12 oz bottle with a great label pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Bottle from 10/07/13 so it’s obviously oxidized. Should have checked that before I put the bottle in my variety sixer. No hop presence really. Just caramel sweetness and a lot of the dreaded acetaldehyde. Choked down all 12 oz, but wasn’t happy about it.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy deep mahogany with tan head. Nose is rye malt, caramel, earthy hops. Tastes malty, somewhat sweet and sticky, with earthy, hoppy, and a fairly dense finish.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with lingering head. Big aroma - citrus comes through the strongest. Taste is spicy - rye is distinct and well incorporated. Some savory. , vegetal notes. Maybe a little too earthy. Lingering bitter finish. I'm perplexed by this one. Starts well, ends well. Middle...ehh.

Draft - Spicy, hops and grains. Dark clear amber with a rich beige head. Light hops and a nice caramel sweetness with a slight. I really enjoyed this.

Deep red with a small, creamy, off-white head.
Rye, slightly nutty caramel scent.....bread.
Sweet, bready caramel and rye flavor.
Slightly spicy, citric bittering.

Dark dark amber, appears almost black but has a nice clear ruby highlight around the edges; with a thin off white head. Nose is earthy and bready, with a spicy bit of rye, and a somewhat spicy bit of earthy caramel. Body is far too light for its own good, featuring a spicy bit of rye bread dough, earthy dry caramel malt, a light touch of amber sweetness, and a gentle bitterness throughout. Underwhelming to say the least.
