Similar to red rocket ale. Good stuff. I think I prefer the red rocket a little more, but a decent contender.

Bottle. Pours auburn brown with a large sudsy beige head. Nice retention and some lacing. The nose has some spice and caramel. Taste mildly sweet and lightly bitter with some toffee and spice faint pine. Pretty muted overall and not going to set your heart on fire, but decent.

Drinking from a bottle. Really nice with some good hops and sweetness and a little spice. Leaves a spiciness that lasts.

The Bodega, Bushwick tap ($6): Pour a mahogany brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is rye, spice, a healthy dosage of hops, some dirt, and a bit of toffee. Taste is pretty nice. Nice amounts of rye malt balanced against the nice west coast hoppiness. Kind of bitter. Sessionable and well-balanced.

Bottle. Appearance: clear copper, red head with sudsy off white head. Aroma: caramel, toffee, toasted malt, citrus hops and some spicy rye. Taste: citrus floral hops up front, toasted malt and breadiness in middle, ending spicy rye and dried tea leaf bitterness. Mouthfeel: medium creamy body with medium carbonation. Overall: fair. Decent malt/rye/hop balance but nothing outstanding. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/14/13

Aroma: The nose has floral/citrus hops, rye bread, resiny notes, and some spice
Appearance: Pours a clear reddish color with an inch of frothy beige head and drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is on the dry side, with plenty of rye, decent hop bitterness, and a some spice
Palate: This one has light-medium body, with lively carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was pretty solid. Itís a rye beer with a plenty decent hop profile. Itís pretty drinkable. This one is nothing amazing, but there isnít much not to like.
