Before launching into a discourse about pale gold coloured ales with white heads, evident carbonation and so forth, but the star of the show makes itself known as soon as the the lid was ripped from the bottle. Ah, aroma in spadefuls! Pineapple, pine resin, lemon curd, passionfruit and guava. It wafts from the bottle as if under the strict control of a cartoon, directly into the olfactory receptors in my conk. It’s gorgeous! The flavour is pretty good as well with a nice tangy citrus bitterness of tangerine and kumquat. Delish. A triumph.

maekchu (2733) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 16, 2015
Bottle from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Spicy, herbal nose, a bit f yeast and tropical fruit. Dark gold straw color, with fat-bubbled lace. Herbal, hoppy flavors, some light malt, bit of citrus, and a dryish bitter finish. Thin-medium body, and feels a bit heavier than it should for the style. Very pleasant session stuff.
