Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks zvikar. Golden-colored. Aroma of citric hops, kinda stale, and some cookie-ish malt. Flavor has some sweetish maltiness and citric hops, a bit stale, with decent bitterness. Medium-bodied. Not fresh enough but still OK.

12oz bottle from Manahawkin Spirits. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a finger of foamy white head. Aroma is citrusy and tropical. Bready malts, pineapple, apricot, grapefruit, etc. Taste of sweet grains and yeast, followed by orange and lemon zest, spicy hops, and pine. Aroma is the winner here!

Clear golden with a medium foamy white head with excellent lacing. The aroma is well balanced and semi-strong with notes of earthy pale grains, toast, and nutty toffee but also with a strong hoppiness of grassy notes and a little herbal hop resin. The flavor is clean and not too lingering. The malty start is a little too effervescent and cereal-ish for it’s own good with some herbal hop notes and a bit of leafy hop resin on the finish. Light-ish and mostly forgettable.

Pours a light yellow with a white foamy head. Aroma is slightly citrus and light malt. Taste is caramel up front with a slightly nutty roasted finish that ends with bitter crispness. Good pale ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Location: 12 oz bottle from Shop Rite-Hoboken, 10/20/13

Aroma: The nose is light and citrusy, some grassy hops, some pale malts, and spice
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small head and medium-plus lacework
Flavor: The taste is a little citrusy, with a clean hop flavor and some light malt and spice notes
Palate: The body of this one is light-medium, it has a clean feel, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: Thought this one lacked a bit in the aroma, but the flavor makes up for it a bit. It’s a nice, dry one. It could use a little more interesting of a flavor profile, but it does have a solid hop profile. Decent.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a golden orange appearance with a thin off white head. Vanilla cake, grapefruit, tropical fruit, quite herbal aroma. A bit chewy, herbal/fruity, pineapple, grapefruity hoppy, toasted malty, a bit grassy, slightly sweet flavor. Not a bad beer.

Bottle:   Golden, thin to moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing, light carbonation.   Musty and cheezy hop aroma.   Has a faint dank tropical fruit tinge.   Odd...   Heh, part of it reminds me of those swirly hard candies you find around Christmas, those ribbon ones, that are white and beige.   Yeah, weird, mild hop flavor profile, with a sweetness that is totally like those pink/green/beige colored hard candies you find around Christmas.   Not bright, feels a little dank.   Backside has a little citrusy aspect to it, perhaps some of that tropical fruit but its very muted.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Feels thicker than others at least.   Falls off quickly tho.   This was a weird one.

Solid pale ale. A little dry, a little hoppy. Not over the top, well balanced. It’s exactly what I’d expect from this beer.

Shaker pour at Lockdown. Gold to light amber in color. Not much to say about this, I was hoping for a light clean hoppy beer from Cali. What I got was an uneven, characterless, and muddled beer. Hops weren’t directed, just wayward hoppy flavor. Malt was dusty and getting in the way. Sharp bitterness doesn’t help in the structure of the beer. Meh.
