Draught At Session 99, June 23. Pours dark brown, almost black, with an average size diminishing fizzy light-brown head. Very nice aroma of roasted malt, Belgian yeast, chocolate, fruit and light leafy hops. Flavour’s even better, chocolatey along with Belgian yeast and a roasty bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Really solid, I quite liked this.

With the same yeast as Westmalle. That could be a very good thing. Malty raisin scent. Thick and rich. Lots of cocoa and coffee flavours. Roasted and smoky. Very pleaswant though rich. I wouldn’t want a lot of it but this small a mount is fantastic.

On tap at The Only. Pours an inky dark brown with average light brown head. Aroma is somewhat mild with fruity esters and roasty, verging on smoky malt. Flavour is smoky and fruity with light spice. Lingering smoke. Gentle carbonation. Decent.

Pretty well-balanced and tasty. On par with their Hawaiian Pale Ale. Pours black with some head and lacing. I tasted a hint of the Trappist yeast - not so much the orange peel. Maybe a bit of curacao. Roasty malt and some dark chocolate. Finishes a little bitter, a little sweet. Tap at Clinton’s.

Dark side Day at Bar Hop. Expecting a sweet stout, I got a black body with a little head. A dry stout, some sugar. Not so drinkable.A little roasty aroma.A bit above average mouthfeel.

Tap at C'est What. Deep black pour with a tight tan head. The nose is a little bit spicy and molassesy. A little bit of clove and spiced chocolate in addition to some estery sort of character. A fairly sticky mouthfeel, but not cloying at all. Pretty nice stuff really. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[4572-20120623] Tap. Nail polish roasted malt aroma has a pungent cigarette ashtray cleaner note. Black body with a quick creamy dark brown head. Smoked roasty malt flavour. Full body. Reminds me of a couch that’s been sitting in a smoker’s house for ten years. (7/3+/6/3/13) 3.2

Tap at the wine and food fest. This one has some nice flavours. It smells nice and roasty and its got a bit of the belgian spicy notes. In the flavour of flavour is a zest spicy belgian flavour. Then it finish with a nice roasty creamy coco finish. Overall, this was pretty tasty

June 23, 2012 - draught at "Session 99" - session #2. Black, thin-looking, decent sized creamy/frothy tan head. Aroma is quite herbal/vegetal, but not too off-putting - mint, treacle, molasses, celery, oddly and pungently bitter but seemed even more sweet. The taste is better (7+) - follows, mint, decent roast, again I get celery, something a bit spicy, I don’t see coriander, but I’m happy about that (hate that soapy crap) - some alcohol, well-balanced. A bit on the thin side, weak carbonation, medium roasty finish, more bitterness in the finish - needs more body and carbonation.

2012-06-23. Black body with a tan head. 3+ Flavour is a bit odd, vaguely herbal licorice like note in a melange with yeast notes, over a sweet malt core. Hints at coconut? 6+ Nice aroma, dusty mocha character, sweet malt. 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. Bit odd, but not bad. At Session Festival 2012, Toronto
