3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Slightly hazy deep golden with a fair white head.
Aroma: Rich, strong hops with nice pine/resin, some citrus, maybe light tropical notes, light and pleasant biscuity malt notes, nothing much in the way of pineapple juice...
Palate: Medium body, fairly spunky effervescence.
Flav.: More nice hops, largely pine/resin with some nice fruitiness and a bit more malt support than the nose; dry with good bitterness and a fairly long, resinous, lightly fruity finish.
I killed several before actually rating this. Very nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a pale amber with a foamy white head, very pleasing to the eye. Some pine, citrus, and pineapple on the nose. Very light bodied ale, very refreshing. Taste is very interesing, nice amount of bitterness from the hops to play alongside the tropical pineapple flavor. Made me think it was summer for a moment!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml bottle from the LCBO. Hazy gold body which is subtlety tinted brown. Pineapple, pine, grapefruit on the nose. It is also malty with some caramel coming through a little bit. A nice dryness on the palate, however it doesn’t take away from the overall sessionable quality of this beer. Quite hoppy, medium to elevated perceived bitterness that finishes long with some grapefruit zest, predominantly. Some floral qualities as well.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Silky tropical fruit dominate this smooth New World Pale Ale, ending up in earthy hop resins and their just bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the misty amber.
-Malts offer but light caramel, without much definition.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-This is well-made, but it lacks depth and subtleties.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a hazy amber with fun yeasty swirls floating around and had a big frothy off white head, very good lacing on this brew. Aroma was of pineapple, tropical hops and pine. Tastes of sugar, pine, and the pineapple hits you at the end. Had a light body with a refreshing amount of bitterness at the end.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Quite an enjoyable lil affair to down. A mellow, hazy copper with a frothy head that left a lace legacy behind. Light pine, citrus and caramel comprised the enjoyable aromatics. Sweeter than expected, a white grapefruit flavour was prominent here, a low bitterness trailing. The mouthfeel was softer than expected but a bittersweet aftertaste made this a solid serious session sip.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from 12 oz. bottle.
Slightly hazy, orange-amber with a 3-finger off-white head that leaves random blotches of lacing.
Aroma of citrus, caramel, pineapple and a touch of floral hops.
Taste of citrus, pineapple, caramel, tropical fruit, pine resin and a touch of floral hops.
Medium body and medium carbonation.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Orange with a thin white lacy head. Smells of tropical fruit, juicy melon, honey, and caramel. Tastes more citrus with pineapple and a sharp peppery finish with a lingering sweetness. A bit our sourness in the finish is a bit off. I want to drink it. Delicious

Glass, 4-ounce, draught, during the Mondial de la bière, savoured on June 13 2014; eye: caramel with an orangey hue, lightly hazy, tiny ring of tan head, no lacing; nose: sour, infected; mouth: sour, infected; overall: why serve infected beer?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(1176-070814)

On tap at the Ottawa Beerfest. Hawaiian Style Pale Ale served in my 5$ Spearhead tasting snifter. Their flagship beer pours an opaque copper-orange. The nose is a burst of piney orange citrus hops. Not sure what they mean by Hawaiian but this is quite good. It has a crisp mouthfeel of palate cleansing bitterness, It’s a clean bitter hoppy pale ale with a solid malt backbone.
