Sample at the Picaroons Brewers Bash. This is exactly what the description claims. It is a pretty average brown ale flavoured with dried fruit, mostly figs, and cinnamon. Not much to elaborate on; if that sounds good to you, then you will probably like this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada via LCBO. Hazy maple syrup colour, thick frothy head. Balanced aroma, toffee and resin, bright resinous flavour with a long dry sweet finish.

On tap @PubMilos. Deep reddish brown with beige head. Dark fruits and cocoa (good), but too much sulphur with muddy and metallic off-notes (bad). Sweet, medium-bodied, strong in flavour but finishes short and crisp.

Comes in a 6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a light beige head that dissipates quickly enough and hardly any lace is left. Big aromas of dates and nuts. After breathing, caramel malts come out with some rusty hops. Medium-bodied and a little oily. Mild fruity taste at the start with raisin notes, but then, hop shows up in the finish giving this one a nice bitterness. Hints of burnt nuts appear in the aftertaste. This is an interesting brown ale, but not sure I could drink more than one per session.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2013 Pours deep brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of strawberry, fig, dried fruits, and some toffee. Taste is fairly sweet, with dried fruit and roasty malt predominating. Nice and clean on the palate, not too syrupy. Slight herbal-spicy hop finish. Interesting beer and definitely unique.

Lovely looking ale - rich mahogany. Nice aroma, as the fruit is detected. Taste is heavier on the malts than expected and the bitterness that remains is a tad astringent for my taste.

341 mL bottle. Brown. Smells brown, and the dried fruits are there a bit, but not the spice. My first one I drank too cold, and wasn’t impressed. But at cellar temperature, it’s quite anice, drinkable beer. The extras do raise this above the average brown, but the typical nuts and bread are still there. That’s two for two for these guys so far.

First time tasting a spearhead beer. Not a bad tasting beer and interesting. Would like to try the Hawaiian Style Pale Ale. Sounds good!!

Pours maple syrup with a thin dirty snow cap. Tasty alongside one of shawna’s tourtière -- québécois meat pie -- on a cold rainy June day. Burnt brown sugar on the tongue. So glad to find this in a bottle. First had on tap in Griffin in bracebridge & then the keg blew.
