A dark reddish brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, a sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, cocoa, quite nice. In mouth, a nice smooth roasted malt with dark fruits, chocolate, powdery, nice and rich. On tap at Arrow and Loon, Oct. 17 2012.

The beer pours a semi-translucent brownish-red colour with a thin tan ring for a cap. The aroma is nutty malt, spices, and fruit. Almost christmasy aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is sweet malt, some caramel, and a very bitter chocolate finish. The raisins are definitely shining through the flavour.

Really like this. On tap at beer bros. pours muddy brown with minimal head and lots of lacing. Nose is fig and dark fruit with a hint of molasses. Aromas are same with some extra nutty notes. Taste is light sweet. Mouth is pretty light, much less body than I’d like, but makes it an easy drinker. Low ish carbonation.

17OC12. Part of a pint shared by Luc at Loon. Hazy deep brown-copper with a small off-white head. Beautiful, rich, sweet, unctuous malts, faint cinnamon spiciness, deep toasty notes, some fruitiness, so rich and inviting, maybe some vanilla, beautiful. Medium+ body, moderate, fine effervescence. Tons of rich brown sugar, caramel, treacle, fruitiness, a touch of alcohol (appropriate), a little spicy, so nice; basically dry with mild bitterness and a full, richly malty and lightly fruity/toasty finish. Gorgeous

Tried twice in T.O. Grey Cup 2012. Dark brown. Super spicy and malty but either the season or the spice seemed like a Moroccan Spiced Pumpkin beer.

[4571-20120623] Tap. Fruity light banana malt tang aroma. Hazy, dark red amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted fruity malt flavour has just a hint of banana syrup. Medium body. Interesting to sample. (6/3+/6/3/14) 3.2

June 23, 2012 - draught at "Session 99" - session #2. Lovely colour - hazy deep peachy copper with an average frothy/creamy tan rocky head. Smells like vegetables and fruits - not in a bad way - the figs, dates and raisins are definitely there, as is the cinnamon, plus there is floral bitterness and even some mint and I swear I got sweet potato too. Taste follows - very good; not sweet, just fruity and fig-y "carrot juice without the ’ick’" - not much alcohol or actual beer character - not sweet, it’s vaguely sweet. I was surprise how thin the mouthfeel seemed, and it was definitely under-carbonated - finishes quick, leaves a bit of gritty raisin and date skin aftertaste.

Lots of fig and round spice in the taste, next to crisp hops, fruit middle with pale and toasty malts, finish dry-sweet with a slightly heavy-sweet body. Enjoyed it.
