A dark reddish brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, a sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, cocoa, quite nice. In mouth, a nice smooth roasted malt with dark fruits, chocolate, powdery, nice and rich. On tap at Arrow and Loon, Oct. 17 2012.

On tap at Bar Hop Dark Days. Spciy and sweet. I could drink this, but way too much going on. A little cloying.

Deep dark brown aroma with a thin white head. The aroma is fairly spicy with notes of clove, Demerara sugar a little bit of yeasty fruit and some sweet yeast character. An unusual sort of treacle/burnt sugar character that I really dig. Itís definitely a sipper but it could make a nice winter warmer type of brew. Iím not sure what Moroccan about it, but that might be above my pay grade.

Bottle. Medium amber, orange highlights. Aroma is very spicy, cinnamon and mace with brown sugary toasty malts. Palate is pretty much the same, not really feeling the figs. But a tasty brown regardless.

[4571-20120623] Tap. Fruity light banana malt tang aroma. Hazy, dark red amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted fruity malt flavour has just a hint of banana syrup. Medium body. Interesting to sample. (6/3+/6/3/14) 3.2

Draught At Session 99, June 23. Pours dark brown with an average size beige head. Slightly mild but nice aroma of dark malt, dark fruit and some light vinous notes (?). Very nice malty flavour along with some chocolate, nuts, dark fruit and a light but pleasant bitter finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Iím not much of a fan of Brown Ales but this is a solid, really good version of the style.

June 23, 2012 - draught at "Session 99" - session #2. Lovely colour - hazy deep peachy copper with an average frothy/creamy tan rocky head. Smells like vegetables and fruits - not in a bad way - the figs, dates and raisins are definitely there, as is the cinnamon, plus there is floral bitterness and even some mint and I swear I got sweet potato too. Taste follows - very good; not sweet, just fruity and fig-y "carrot juice without the íickí" - not much alcohol or actual beer character - not sweet, itís vaguely sweet. I was surprise how thin the mouthfeel seemed, and it was definitely under-carbonated - finishes quick, leaves a bit of gritty raisin and date skin aftertaste.
