Test vom 9.9.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,9,8,8,8,9 - 8,55

bottle, although mine came in a bottle with a red label. same abv and no mai or weihnachts or anything before the bock on the label. anyways, a generic but decent bock - copperish with no real head; aroma of pear schapps; some tinned fruit and red berry. purchased at pivoteka in pilsen

Test vom 20.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,8,7,8,8,8 - 8,15

0.5 l bottle. Copper color. Sweet, toffeish and honeyish some warming alcohol and beetroot. Sweet toffeish and honeish, with some tropical fruits and some musty notes of root vegetables. Full body. Not my kind of bock.

500 ml, BB date reads 21. April 2011, into tulip. Pours light amber body with good clarity topped by medium, frothy white head with good retention and stickage to the walls. The nose is moderate maltiness with light toasty notes, evident spiciness from the noble hops used and noticeable alcohol. Moderate pale malt flavor with light toasty qualities, peppery spiciness originating from from noble hops and/or alcohol, some hoppy bitterness lending dry finish. Very clean. Light to medium bodied and moderately carbonated. In short: a clean Heller Bock with evident noble-hop spiciness.

50cl bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a small one finger fizzy white head that left some heavy lacing. The nose is all malt with some light honey and a touch of caramel. The flavor is sweet with some light caramel and a nice vienna maltiness. Minimal to no hops. Medium bodied with soft light carbonation. A touch sticky on the finish. Not bad, fairly well clean fermented and lagered.

Bottle many thanks to kappl, had at home. Alround rating: Sweet pale malt, herbal german hop is restrained slightly, carbonation is decent, its still fairly clean and drinkable for it being a bock. Decent show.
