Bottle: Poured a caramel brown with a tan off white head. The aroma is sweet fruit and a soft burnt hint to it. Taste is a sweet caramel malt with that soft fire wood dry aftertaste. The remains on my tongue are sugary.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2007 Bottled. Cloudy dark reddish amber, minimal head. Smokey peachy nose. Sweet and fruity, medium bodied with soft rounded mouthfeel. Mild and juicy with tangerine and some odd smokiness. Low bitterness. An attention grabber.

TFODRBSG08 Courtesy of Fonefan. Red-golden with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of candy sugar, fruits and malt. The flavour has sweetness and notes of malt, candy sugar, preserved fruits and a very light touch of chocolate. It’s uncomplicated and I like it.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours hazy brown with lasting, creamy and tan head. Aroma is mild fruity, yeasty and caramelish. Fruity/yeasty to a sweet and light roasted caramelish base. Light bitterness and fruity flavours just showing through. Lingering fruity and slight sweet into the finish.

Not able to judge colour/nose, served from stone jugs. Herbal, grassy, spicey nose. Unobtrusive, but decisive spice. God - and JPie - knows which. Dry, but not bone-dry, a bit fruity flavour. Light, slightly slick texture. Great, but light beer. What’s that spice? Something for flavouring preserved fruit?

Bottle, 33 cl. (bought @ Arlon) Almost clear brown color; beige head. Aroma malts, sweet fruits, caramel. Medium body. Taste sweetness; good caramel, light bitterness; bit spices ? Not bad.

schuimkroaat (413) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAY 13, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2006 33 cl bottle; as usual for Mortal’s, no indication of a bottling date or ’bbe’. Dark red with a light haze and a minimal caramel coloured head. Nose of raisins, herbs and light chocolate notes. Taste of dark malts, light burnt, dried dark fruit like figs or dates, fructose. Light burnt bitter aftertaste. Surprisingly, it becomes much fruitier when the yeast is poured in. A light-bodied refresher.
