3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Medium sized creamy head with a hazy orange body.
Aromas of glue, straw, light brett, light fruit, some flowers and light horse and stone tints.
Flavours of bitters, green herbs, some yeast/brett, light fruity, herbs, some peach, light wood and malts.
Aftertaste is a mix of some dey bitters, fruity brett and some flowers.
Low carbo, light watery mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light watery light dry texture.
Aroma starts bad (glue, etc.) but after a while more fruit, flowers and some brett comes through. Flavour is pretty strong bitter. Not bad, but expected more of this!

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
75cl bottle bb09/2014 shared @Tristate Tasting II, Freiburg. Orval persiflage nose sees some chemicals sweeping through the barnyard. Brett clamps down on the weird overamped and soggy, industrial honey cereals underneath, some floral hop and alleviating citrus surfacinf. Thaw water, plum wine in the finish: this series is a spectacularly failed experiment lacking all balance or homogenous taste profile, but at least here the yeast did its brettst.

75cl bottle at home. Somewhat clear golden with a medium white head with low retention. Light to medium body with ditto carbonation. Sweet and sour. Yeast, citrus, funk, fruits and brett. Quite ok, expected less after I tasted the German of the Special Yeast series.

shared @ 2nd D/CH/F TriStateRating, courtesy of bartlebier, thank you! brett-nose, hints of dry cider and barnyard, more barnyard in the taste, has something flabby and overly sweet to it that doesn’t fit the brett.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled @ Camping Ratebeers 2014, small sample. Bit boring belgian-like blonde beer as a base beer. Brett gives a bit of funk and complexity, which makes it way better. Nothing compared to the better Brett-beers around, but still quite nice. Best of the series.
