330ml brown bottle. Label states 4% ABV. Reddish-brown pour with moderate cream-white head. Simple aromas of caramel malts and floral hops. Taste is sweet butterscotch with mild hop bitterness. Smooth short palate with medium-light body. OK.

Soft malty caramel beer which has very little carbonation. Used to be a staple when growing up, but sadly has not improved with age.

Bottle. Bright amber with a modest off white head. Aroma of caramel and nuts. Taste is sweet with toffee and modest balancing bitterness. Slightly spiced at the end. Straightforward and OK.

An average beer, was expecting more from the packaging, a dark stout like taste but too tioasted and leaves a slurpee like taste, an okay brew but not a distinctive one

Bottle in NZ.

After the Speight’s dark had dropped my expectations sufficiently, this was a pleasant surprise and I find myself rating it against the grain here. Actual detectable hop character (albeit straw-like), pretty decent malt balance. I found it quite easy and enjoyable to drink.

330ml bottle. Very nice amber hue, small off-white mostly lasting head, some lacing. Aromas vary a lot with temperature; malty, honey, brown sugar, caramel, some cocoa, a bit of tobacco, woody. Quite sweet, low bitterness. dry slightly woody finish, medium body, soft to flat carbonation. This initially reminded me of DB draught but better, not good enough for me to want another though. Very mediocre .

Tap. Enjoyable amber ale. Aromas of roasted malt. Sweet taste, with average duration. Velvety palate, and medium body. Brown colour, with a frothy white head.

Quite a fine beer but not my style. A bit sweet in flavor with very little to remember.
