COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SPEIGHT’S® Pale Ale uses a blend of caramalt and specially made Ale malt to deliver distinctive lightly caramelised malt flavours, with subtle biscuit notes. Generous late hopping with NZ grown Saaz hops provide the spicy bitterness and fruity overtones reminiscent of the original brew

The appearance of this beer is as expected, slightly dark as the typical pale ale needs to be. From the tap this beer was presented too cold as usual so once again I am subjected to the slings and arrows of funny looks for my cradling of the glass. Anyway, after telling the buggers to bugger off, in my mind, I then appreciated the subtle hop nose followed by a reasonably flavoursome aroma that suggests a degree of late hopping as noted. Well done from a macro brewer, and from the comments it appears that the draught beer is a better brew.

Bottled. Deep golden. Sugary sweet with some caramel. Fizzy, mild and empty with an industrial feel to it.

Ungstrup (26268) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 8, 2003
A malty, yeasty aroma - very lovely - with notes of oranges. The color is light amber and it has a fine but fast disappearing head. The flavor is boring compared to the aroma. It is slightly sweet malty with some notes of oranges and very weak yeast. The texture is somewhat watery. All in all an average beer.

Not much going on here. Very mild and light. Rather bland and thin. No need to bring anymore of this all the way to Scandinavia.

Dark golden-yellow colour. Subtle spicy/citrus hop aroma. The falvour is less hoppy than would be percieved by the aroma. The beer is very light bodied and feels rather thin on the palate. A light spicy hop flavour at first weakens to a thin watery finish. I detect the use of adjuncts.
