2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
500ml bottle poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is clear dark copper colored with a large frothy beige head that reduced swiftly leaving some lacing behind on the glass. Aroma of caramel and syrup loaf. Flavours of caramel, raisins and syrup loaf. Taste is medium-light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-light bodied, slightly sticky texture and average carbonation. Spendrups Julbrygd is unexciting, overly sweet and not spicy enough for a Christmas brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2009 can (500ml), it has fruity aroma, floral hops, red color, clear liquid, frothy and red head, medium sour taste
(remind me a little bit to rodenbach grand cru) carbonation: fizzy, thin body and texture with a long sear finish in the nose and in the roof of the mouth
it is a good northern beer
(bought in the ikea)

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Transferring older data - can from Sweden. An uninspired amber lager, some hints of spices and dried fruits, rather sweet.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Som att dricka den ökända svenska klassikern "bayerskt" dvs. en mörk lager med lite högre sötma än vanligt. Ingen upplevelse direkt.

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Maybe the mistake I did was to buy this 50cl can in IKEA, I wanted to try it and I should have just kept buying furniture there. Pours brownish with no foam no head almost flat. Aroma is quite metal and a bit sweet. The flavors, well what flavors, its really very terrible. I had one sip and my gosh its wost than a flat coke, then its appearance looks really like a coke. Its even wrost than the worst soda, its not really drinkable. I had a second sip to make sure and it did not help so it was DOWN THE DRAIN!!
Is 0.5 the lowest this can go?

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
50 cl can, ’bbe’ July 08. Dark amber red, clear. Quickly collapsing head. Faint aroma of malt with a bit of chocolate. A rather slim malty taste with some hops and an aftertaste which is a combination of hop bitterness and fruit candy sweetness.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. The foam is beige, compact and finger thick. The colour is dark ruby.
The smell is quite mild, malty and somewhat sweet sour with some notes of crisp bread.
The carbonation is quite strong with small bubbles as it should be in a Swedish Christmas lager.
The taste is malty with some sweet notes. The slowly growing bitterness got some burned and fruity notes. The finishing taste is gentle and dry.
This is a quite discreet dark lager. On the other hand, if a beer should be able to accomplish the Swedish yuletide smorgasbord with its smoked, salt, sweet, sour and peppery tastes, it might not be too robust.

A lot of good roasted malt flavours. Not very dry. The right beer for christmas.
