Crafted in our brutal brewing workshop. The Kustom Lageris a smooth, no-nonsense brew. It’s dry hopped with cascade and amarillo hops to offer a spicy citrus edge. Plus it’s organic, and it glows in the dark. Need we say more?

Canned, 330ml from Belle Isle, Chichester, W.Sussex. Gold with white head. Heavily carbonated beer, sweet fruity lagery flavours, thinnish. Reasonable as a canned lager though.

Can from Morrisons, drunk at home. Deep lager yellow. Don’t know if it actually glows in the dark (didn’t care enough to try and find out). For all the talk of dry-hopping, the scent is quite bland: a bit of citrus, caramel and bubblegum. I really dig how this beer tastes. Sweet, with slightly spicy hop. Refreshing. I’d definitely have this again.

Oscura, con buena espuma color caramelo. Cuerpo medio. Seca, semi amarga, notas de pasto y tierra. Malta no muy acentuada. Paladar corto. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Canned 330ml. -Piss yellow coloured, big white head, weak citrusy hoppy nose. Spendrups and hops???!!! Weak malty, citrusy hoppy, notes of grass and hay with short bitterish finish. Surprisingly presence of hops for sure but Amarillo; come on...

Misty orange gold with a big, pillow of white that holds and laces well. Slightly eggy and slightly vegetal nose with a hint of soft grain, stale hops and plastic. Soft and foamy on the palate with a gassy finish. Not much in the way of hops though there is hint of lime coola cordial in there. Stale hops and soft malt like the nose although just a little cleaner. Nothing much else. Instantly forgettable. (33cL can, BB 25/09/15, BWS, Willetton)

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2015 Re-rate 6/15: Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Stas. Spalter Select, Magnum & Perle version. 4.6%. Clear yellow. Aroma of grains, hay, vegetables, and a grassy note. Sweetish flavor, grainy, with a vegetal touch and a bitterish finish. Quite light-bodied. 3/3/4/2/7=1.9

[4/27/15] Can on the train from Stockholm to Copenhagen. Amarillo version. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of graininess, slightly vegetal, and some citric and floral hops. Flavor has mild graininess, citric and floral hops, and decent bitterness. Quite light-bodied. OK. 5/3/6/2/12=2.8

A clear yellow body with a fluffy, well-lasting white head. Nose has lovely floral, honey and citrus aromas. The dry taste leads to a bitter lingering finish. Smooth carbonation and light palate. Nice refreshing lager whose hoppy aromas remind of a golden ale.

The art of the can is amazing. The beer is not. Still it’s a great lager, with a distinct biterness.
